a sauna or steam room in your house!! i know to lots of us the cost of a swimming pool is out of the question ,but would you consider a bit of luxury/style in having a personal/family steam-room or sauna, you might think is a great selling point for a house even!! would you ????

Maybe one of those all in one units. i.e. a bath/shower/sauna/sound system/disco lights etc. I saw them at the Grand Designs show a few months back. About 3-4k. Saves the expense of tanking yr room.

yes sean i know the ones ,but there small compared to a room and you can still have sound,disco light et!! and if you DIY it you will get a lot more for your money mate and you get to choose your tiles /mosaic/stone

I would have a steam room, but they are quite expensive to run. I've also taken out a few sauna's this year so they could extend their bathroom's, because they never used them. I do use the steam room at my local gym, as it's only five minutes walk away, and has aroma therapy and mood lighting, which is perfect after a 10k run.

I've installed quite a few of them, but they look like crap after a year or so, because the materials cant take the heat, and you just cant keep them clean.

I could pick out and shape all my marble for the surrounds etc.
If i had the money then yes,it would be lovely sitting in it knowing you designed and conquered it.Lovely

I like the idea of the infa red saunas. You can put them in any room and they only need a power point. After a hard day's work in winter I can think of worse ways to unwind.

Dave, I would like a steam shower, not to be chavtastic but instead to help with my sinus problems and allergies. I've built them for customers but never have done the work in my house. That seems to be the case all the time.

i would prefer a pool first then maybe a sauna but until i get those 6 little numbers up then theres no chance
