Yellow Pages

Need a little help, i have put myself on Yell.com which cost me nothing and also got an email saying i will appear in the yellow pages directory from August.
Now i have had a bloke on the phone waffling on about advertising in the Yellow pages, was busy so just said send me some info. Basically now got a pack with things for me to sign at a cost of £126 a year! thought it was free. Is this bloke just trying to sell me a bigger spaced advert?
Will i still appear for free if i dont sign this paperwork?
Or is it worth signing it if i get a larger space?

I've had a similar call earlier inthe year. I give it a miss mate. From my understanding, you have to buy one to get the other free, nothing is free in advertising, ever, unless your doing it yourself.

just went through similar experience, give it a miss as scrub says. There are plenty of people out there willing to take your money with no gurantee of a return, too many sharks out there so don't let em bite

You will probably still get your free line entry. The extra cost will be for a proper advert. Only you can judge if it would be worthwhile. Personally, wouldn't bother.

I have free listing on yell.com and to my surprise also had a one line in yellow pages. Nobody called or tried to sell me anything, it just appeared

Recieved an email today telling me i will appear in the yellow pages (free listing) so have told the bloke i aint interested in a fancy bordered add.

I'm getting the feeling I've missed some of that rare free advertising I'm so adiment doesnt exist, lol. Maybe I'm a bit hasty to tell cold callers to sod off when they reckon they have a gift for me. Hmmmmmmm ;-(

I waited 9 months for the 'new' yellow pages to come out with my 'free' line in. They sort of 'forgot ' to put it in. gotta wait another 12 months! who needs 'em

All business are entitled to a free listing in the yellow pages Just dont fall for there crap to buy any boxed advertising same goes for thomson local

As long as you operate with a business phone line of course. Private lines don't get filtered through to Yellow Pages unless you contact them yourself.
