its all about getting your name out there, yellow pages, parish mag ,shop window, i even got a £800 job once from a card i put in my local barbers shop

Every little bit of advertising will bring about a job every now and again. I don't have my free listing in yellowpages anymore but when I did it did bring in about £2000 worth of work a year. It's not much but its better then nowt and plus you gain a new customer from it.

I got a call from my free listing on yell.com, the webs defo the way forward with this

but I wouldnt pay to advertise with these companies as the cost outweighs the benefits to me

Used to use yellow pages and did quite well out of them, but stopped for a few years. decided to give them another go last year - paid £450 to go in Birmingham South West and Birmingham South East with a quarter column block ad which stood out well, and I had good page position in both........... got one job worth £260 all year from it - oh, and loads of sales calls. Needless to say i won't be bothering again.

tried the paid listing one year in the yellow pages and got just enough work from it to cover the cost and a night out,it all depends on what area you are in and how many listings for the trade are there!
