I'm gonna take up my floorboards in the lounge insulate under and between the joists put a thin Gyvlon screed I between then was going to put the hardibacker over the lot to act as a thermal mass rather than putting wooden boards down again cos they will insulate..... Would probably be able to do it with 2x 12mm. Might have to come up with an alternative though....

Ahh I reread the post about Thermal Mass....but dont understand why you dont just us Gyvlon for all of it..........I know I am gonna regret the long answer

No long answer on this mate but simply that gyvlon is not suitable as a structural element so won't support the joists. These will deflect which will cause it to crack. I wanted to put something down on top to screw to the joists and act as the structural deck. Floor boards would be no good as they insulate too much. Cement board would be ideal but looks like I might have to rethink.

Perhaps redo the floor totally.....
