Started some steps today I will post some pictures of the finished job when its complete tiles are 4.8mm thick porcelain fixed onto a metal stair case with sand and cement and slurry
no hand rails on yet or painting of the metal and the grouting needs tidying but I took a few pictures of the steps when the covers came off last week

Surprised a sand/cement was used on tiles fitted to metal.....
what would you expect for this one Mark? stair case and landings were constructed with a 60mm trays in order to accept a floor screed so we just put the screed in and bonded the tiles into the bed

this looks great .
we are doing the same white travertine lookalike tile and impey system .
did you use the the original tilesafe bitumous membrane on fibre glass tray or their new tanking kit that is suitable over other substrates and more user friendly.
i also use ottoseal mastic but have never met anyone else that does so.
we use it because it is good to stick over stainstop for stone installations.
obviously there would be no problem on porcelain.

Hi jonny used the 5 sqm tanking kit the bituminous type. Tiles are Coem ceramiche millerighe platinum white with griege. Have tried a few silicones over the last few years jonny, mapei I find is ok but I think the otto seal is a great product with an excellent colour range. Hats off to you on the church floor, looks stunning, must be nice to think you've created something that will be appreciated by many people over many generations, excellent work jonnyc.

Hi all finished this one the other day it was awkward getting pics , the door was on , the room was small and the lighting was duff , but you should get the idea.
