Fire Damper Actuators Electrical Advice

Fire Damper Actuators Discussion ThreadFire Damper Actuators Electrical Advice

Hello

Working on a site with dampers fitted on the ducting which need fire shut offs connected to the fire panel via an actuator.

The actuators have 4 contacts “Damper Closed NO and NC” and “Damper Open NO and NC”.

Presuming they need a NC contact so the actuator operates and closes the damper when the alarm goes off but not sure which NC contact to utilise.

Any insight appreciated.

Thanks.

Gas cooker change to an electric cooker Electrical Advice

Gas cooker change to an electric cooker Discussion ThreadGas cooker change to an electric cooker Electrical Advice

Hi everyone, we currently have a gas cooker which is getting old and needs to be replaced. The problem is that the width is 55cm and there are few gas cookers of this size nowadays. The question is - how easy would it be to change to an electric cooker? Our current gas cooker has a 13amp connection for cooker lights etc but obviously this wouldn't be sufficient for an...

Shared immersion heater circuit Electrical Advice

Shared immersion heater circuit Discussion ThreadShared immersion heater circuit Electrical Advice

Hi everyone

Is it permissable to connect 2 immersion heaters to one RCBO and supply cable?

I'm installing a water cylinder (which has 2 immersions) in a new utility room, which used to be a kitchen.

I want to repurpose the old cooker supply cable which is 10mm. If it's legal, I want to feed both immersions vis seperate DP switches, but they will share the same RCBO in the consumer...

Hi all.

Is it too early to wish everyone a happy Christmas?😅

Looking for a little bit of help regarding a contactor.

I got a call to look at a 230v heavy duty mixer/blender in a busy hospital kitchen. It has stop/start buttons and a contactor within the appliance itself. Contactor is a Teco, 3 pole normally open. When I arrived I assumed it was the contactor. Start button wasn't energising the coil...

Hi I have stupidly cut the cable to push through the wall . Idea was to join them back together.

There's 2 wires inside blue and a white one. The white one has copper strands exterior around it.

When I joined it back together. The camera didn't work.

I'm unsure if it's down the cable I've knackered now from that bit. Or I might have nicked it from outside when trying...

When to use AFDD’s Electrical Advice

When to use AFDD’s Discussion ThreadWhen to use AFDD’s Electrical Advice

We currently install industrial washing machines, driers and finishing equipment. These can be three phase and single phase. Normally no greater than 32 amps.

When on a commando socket we will install an AFDD.

If we remove the commando socket and install a standard rotary isolator, do we still need to install the AFDD ?
