Inspection&Test and EICR Electrical Advice

Inspection&Test and EICR Discussion ThreadInspection&Test and EICR Electrical Advice

As a qualified electrician, do you need to be registered with a Scheme in order to carry out Inspection&Test and EICR? It is not notifiable anyway! According to the Regs being competent is sufficient, but you never know, every day we hear a new thing 🙂. I have completed the Verification, Inspection and testing course to be on the safe side!

Changing a ceiling rose to 2 wire light fitting Discussion ThreadChanging a ceiling rose to 2 wire light fitting Electrical Advice

Hello,

I realise it doesn't need earthing, but there is an additional wire, blue with red casing around it.
Not sure what I'm meant to do with that?
Also assume it's ok to fit the 3...

Exposed basic insulation is a straight C2 going by the letter of the book, but what if that exposed cable is caused by a small section of missing trunking 7 feet up a wall in a plant...

I hope you are all well and having a good week.

I would like to ask a question regarding safe isolation in one particular case.

Scenario:

Two qualified electricians, both with LVCP (Low Voltage Competent Person) certificates, are working on an external lighting circuit with...
