I started at 80-100 per day(knowing i was slower and trying to get a name)
Now i aim for 150. Sometimes I make it sometimes I dont and like you its usually splashbacks i dont make it.
I like the formulae above but i quite often get asked to do bespoke patterns in the cooker hood splashback. Add £100 for them!!

Either get the m2 on a large job, very nice, or its £150 per day, that leaves you with around £105 after tax and NI.

i find myself weighing up the customer and getting a feel for what sort of budget they will be on and adjust my price accordingly, especially if i could do with the job (better to have a few quid than none at all).I have questioned customers after the job and i seem to be hitting the mark.
But ultimately it is a combination of factors!

ive started puttin 25% away for every job i do for tax and NI. then when i et my first tax bill it wont be a shock. Is that what you other guys do
