I have a vivaro 05 plate which have the same engine in as the Nissan primastar and Renault traffic and the engines are rubbish I have replaced nearly everything on it a least once I was warned off them when buying a new van but they looked a lot nicer. Sorry for the negatives

How many miles has it covered?

the vw will go on for ever and keeps its value due to this and the status factor (if it doesn't a german engineer will be shot at dawn) having said that my mate has a vivaro and swears by it and hes a massive vw fan :/

pants, ive got an 05 vivaro with 59600 on the clock, its been fine apart from the time i spilled hot chocolate down the speedo and it decided it wanted its indicators on all the way back from reading[about 100 miles] lots of irate drivers on the motorway!should i be filling my underwear right about now?with 60k looming? Anyone interested in an 05 vivaro? they are brilliant vans

Company I sub too have some exlwb Fiat's all with Transit running gear & engines. good big van cheaper than buying a tranny with the same spec!

You can't win in the Renault, Vauxhall, Nissan debate. My mate is a Vauxhall mechanic and says they are all total rubbish, my mate bought a second hand Vivaro with 50k, and only driven it 4 times, needs a new engine but....
My mates are on their second Nissan and love them and their old Renault.
Everyone i know in North Wales drive Transporters, and it's a total image thing,
So who knows!!!!

My Vivaro is 06, and has done 82k, just had a new battery and master cylinder. It is ex AA so it's history is top notch, the battery and clutch cylinder are all I've had to replace in 2 years. MOT in 2 weeks, we'll see how that goes!

mines done 116 k and it was about £11k plus vat 07 plate 2.5 ltr diesel factory fitted kombi

I still think its a lot of money for a van new or not but ive got to say its great to drive
more user friendly than my old transit handles very well
dont think its great on fuel but i dont do many miles anyway and becauuse of this when i get round to selling it the miliage will of evened itself out due to my lack of miles

each to their own but the wife doesnt moan with it on the drive like she did with the transit

I do like the transporters but can't justify the extra cash. I recently found out that you can fit 22" alloys on them :drool5: Now that is a good reason to get one
