i always find in little bathrooms or splashbacks the finger is ample:angel_smile:,in big bathrooms with big tiles i use the kits

what about one of these. i;ve been using these with a water and detergent in a spray bottle leaves a really nice finish and easy clean up.
you might already use them. quite cheap when they get a bit worn just bin them.

Rich, I agree with you. I am using loads more Silicon, but the end result is fantastic. I have the Fugi 5 set (i.e. 5 profiling tools). Cost quite a bit, but worth it. The only problem is that the square profiles are actually too big. Not all walls are 90deg square so I might have to cut the profiles in half. I used to use finger & fairy liquid. I used to use a thin bead of Silicon, there was hardly any waste. Now I use a thick bead of Silicon and apply it like the picture above. The picture above is of a staircase that was installed by someone else. The bottom step had a 16mm gap that I have now filled with Silicon. I have been practising for months now, and I am getting better. The promotional video on utube for the fugi kit makes it look like a child could use the system. I guess that's the power of advertising! I would recommend getting these tools and practice practice practice.

I have used them, to be honest i find fingers better than the kits. loads of soapy water sprayed and job done.

I've used ice lolly sticks before, useful in those "behind the taps" scenarios, where you know that your not gonna get your knuckles in past the taps.

Theres a trick when using the soap method though or the Silicon doesnt stick properly I found...

you have to make sure that there is at least a 2mm gap and fill it fully with full contact to the two edges of the joint.then get a spray bottle with detergent in it and lightly spray the Silicon joint .always best to use too much Silicon than too little then use something like what i posted earlier. once you get the hang of it its dead easy and you can get around a room in about 30 mins. when you're done picking up the excess Silicon is easy, because its already got a barrier on it from the spray and spray a bit on your fingers you can pick it up without any mess on you fingers. mission accomplished. its the best part of the job because once you are done thats it and the Silicon looks mint as:hurray::8:
