The sigma ones are supposed to be good
The sigma pump vacuum lifters are very good, but there’s no change out of £400 for a pair.
The small mechanical ones are not bad either, but I only use them for pieces that are too small for regular 8” ones. But they will work on a slightly textured surface.
But I’d still choose the larger type.

GGR Group have a decent range,

You can either go for something like this

Or alternatively, something like this, I have a few of these.

Woods are reasonable price at around £55 each.
These are also low marking.

These are specifically for glass, they have dedicated stone pads too.
These ones are decent all rounders I’ve found, but to be honest, lifted very little stone with them.
As we all know we work in a very dusty environment, so maintaining them is very important, always meticulously clean the surface of pad and whatever you’re lifting before using.
Regularly remove piston from handle, clean and oil the seal.

Goodbye old faithful!
Can't believe how quiet the new one is.
Deal on at CTD and with my points it cost me £15

Anyone use one and what blade would you recommend?
180mm with 16mm bore size - attachment is reversible for 22mm bore but that brings the disc n a tiny bit closer and my old porc disc fouls the tray a little. (might be a bit warped mind)

I found these to be VERY material specific.
The one you have is the fine grit, only use it on softer materials.
And I don’t recommend them for cutting either, they’re vacuum braised, so can’t be dressed like a regular disc.
I trashed a fine grade on a hard Florim porcelain, not realising the fine meant it’s for softer material and not abrasive grit.
Within 30 mins of using it, it was done, and they’re expensive, it can still be used for profiling, cutting not so much. :(

Blunt Tool

8FD7EE8C-6A87-4CE4-9E79-04DA9356D74C.jpeg Been using this for more than a month now saw Marc had one, wasn’t easy to get, paid for it and waited weeks then got money back then they sent it saying sorry just keep it! Shoved it in a big white plasterers bucket as recommended by a certain thin tile, fat cheques expert, and it cleans the paddle nicely, no fuss! Will retire the wife’s hairbrush now! Think I bought it on a Tuesday but I’ll ask Craig David to be sure!
