Just rang Bal technical and they said solid wall would take 80kg per m, is this correct? I did explain about the skim but the lady just kept repeating how a wall would take 80kg.

If it is the joists that are uneven what is the best solution? ....without taking them up and re-levelling.

Am trying to keep height down to a minimum, If it is just uneven joists can I not just install the Durabase? If not I just want to know the reasons, it's not a wet room either so I don't see the need for tanking.

You said you've seen many cracks before, what were the causes?

If i do find cracks on the plaster, what can i do about it?

Was 6 months ago so can't remember now, don't recall seeing cracks, i probably would have been suspicious if i had.

I have checked and couldn't see anything at all, bathroom is on first floor as well.

Any idea what may have caused it? I will have to arrange a date to go there, remove tiles and report back here on my findings i guess.
