    Levelling clips how many?

Only a DIYer here but I am almost finished my daughters kitchen with 600x300 and I used Tile Lash and I think they are 1mm and I am using 3mm spacers but what I am finding is (because I am messy) its very easy to get addy around the clip part which makes it hard to get anything less than a 3mm...

My 1st Job Little support please

I would defiantly agree with getting normal set adhesive, I did my bathroom walls a couple of years ago and used twice as much adhesive because I couldn't put them on the walls quick enough before it suddenly went off in the bucket. Then not to mention all the extra time cleaning everything that...

    Expansion gap help please

I don't mind cutting the plinth as I have the right gear to cut off what I need. So a 3mm Silicon join to the skirt will be ok then. I have found a good Silicon match to the grey tile colour and will be using a darker grout.

    Expansion gap help please

Job is for my daughter who does not like the sound of removing the skirt, yes I am removing the plinths and cutting them down to replace. I personally would remove the skirt and cut the bottom of the architrave off but if I do not do that what is the smallest perimeter expansion gap I can get...

    Expansion gap help please

Not my house or call on the skirt remove. I respect the advice but 10mm all the way around between the tile and skirt sounds big on a 3x3m room - does it need to be that big

    Expansion gap help please

Sorry yes - I was thinking of perimeter movement joint between the tile and skirting - which is staying. So are you saying that the tiles themselves will not move at 10m2 but the concrete they are attached to will shrink. I was thinking of going with a 3 mm Silicon space from the tile to the...

Whats that arrow on the underside of my tiles

I was more concerned that I had upset a pro in some way. I will be looking at the remaining unopened and shuffled boxes and checking if they all are packed with the arrow on the same side and if so I will flick a pen down the whole stack on that side. Dont forget i am not a pro and have enough...

    Single Tile lifting suckers

Got a big DIY job to do and been doing a lot of research to top up my tile knowledge and keep seeing people using suction pads. As I always end up getting my fingers in the addy I thought it a good idea to get one and I love it ---- I have just spent 2 hours going around the house attaching it...

Any Left Handed Tilers on here?

I am new here and am doing what new people do on forums - go searching and find old threads to reply to. But I found this searching for info on trowels. I am a big DIYer and had a trowel that had a loop handle but it was cheap and not much room from my knuckles to the comb and I keep dipping my...

Whats that arrow on the underside of my tiles

Got an idea, hold them all together and put one line of pencil down the whole stack edge in one go so it wont even be seen once its down. Now to go through the 3 boxes of loose tiles I have opened to plan my set out. !

Whats that arrow on the underside of my tiles

I only have 1 here so i cannot check an others, I didn't know they could of started out as 60x60. So if it is deemed an important issue by the manufacturer to aid the installer with arrows then why cut them off on half of them.

Whats that arrow on the underside of my tiles

I see - they have a softish riven slate pattern so may not be critical. Next problem is that the arrow is not very pronounced in its emboss and then I am going to be back buttering and will forget where the stupid arrow was !

Whats that arrow on the underside of my tiles

So as the person laying them why would I need to know. I understand with carpet tiles as they have a direction of the pile and you can see the shade difference. Is it the same idea but to a lesser degree with tiles then.I have not done many rooms but never noticed it on a tile before
