I've just walked away from one. 80x80 tiles floor down for two weeks at 80mm thickness, wanted it done before the kitchen is fitted. The guy didn't know anything about the screed and didn't know if it had been commissioned. I don't want hassle like that!
I did a 40m2 600x600 floor without levelling clips, had a few L cuts, and no issues. Did the utility room next door but used levelling clips, and there are hairline cracks on the L cuts. So my thinking is that the clips have put too much tension on the cut tiles.
Slopping problem, levelled as much as I can and now I'm running out of time. Just thought putting 40mm boards down would be the quickest and cheaper option.
No CTD near me. Was hoping to pick some boards up tomorrow and found a place in Notts that do 40mm ones, if in stock.
Would it work what @Tile seller said? It did cross my mind!
I've got to build up a floor at home ASAP, as a new kitchen is being delivered on Friday, and it needs to be tiled before then.
Issue is that the floor runs out 40mm so was thinking about using 40mm insulated boards. My usual tile place only stock up to 20mm.
So, any other options? Or where can...
I've recommended two plumbers to a customer and neither has been in contact. Not a massive job but still money to be made. What's the problem? Kind of made me look bad also!
