An architect and his bright ideas as usual, lol. For some reason they are having a wetdeck but with a curved shower screen like you have on a tray, so had to cut the curve to sit under the screen and o ly form the envelope inside that line to make it work properly

is tiling the most difficult of all the trades

It depends on what aspect of tiling you do most, but some are harder than most other trades, plastering is hard on the body, especially ceilings, but it's a skill that is only repatition to get a decent finish, small ceramic tiles aren't to hard on the body and relativly low skilled most of the...

Floor tiles lifted on calcium based self level floor

Just because it's been professionally sanded, doesn't mean it's been done properly, most of the Anny screeds I go to, they say, the company came back sanded it so it is fine to tile, when in fact it's not, sand them too early and more latence will settle, and the guys screeding don't care about...

Need advise on which backer board works best

For me it's nmp on floors, xps on walls, as general rule, even with the extra labour of adding more timbers to give 300mm centers the ease of xps makes it worth it,

I've heard of ray, never done any work for him tho, don't see the point of rigging up the electric system if the boiler can be fired? We just thought of it because it was impossible to get the boiler in for a couple months, and my tiles had to go down before aga, kitchen, water tank etc etc

    Advise on concrete screed prepu

You will need to let the moisture dry back out of it, a moisture meter would be best to keep checking to see how quick it is drying out, if you don't have one a very dude way of judging it is to put a piece of polythene on the floor with a paint pot on top and leave it for a couple of days, if...

    Perfect level master

Very expensive, it is a good system and they do have a nice thin base but you get cheaper ones that do the same job, also I don't think they are as strong as a lot I've used, get more breakages than other systems, the cheap eBay ones are a good shout and you can get 1.5mm thick in the cheap ones now

    8' x 4' backer boards???

I much prefer using thw smaller sized boards, much easier to get up to a bathroom and around easier to handball in and out of thw van and what not. A bit lazy I guess but I do find the 1200 x 600 more easily manageable
