Setting out metro tile pattern to avoid thin slithers

Yep and still on the night shift trying to work out my metro tiles as tiling not started yet. Issue coming up against in terms of what height to place the tiles is that I have a c2cm sloping ceiling on back 1200 wall of shower area combined with fact my tiles are also continuing out of shower...

Setting out metro tile pattern to avoid thin slithers

Assume you mean tile return wall all way to back wall and therefore the 10mm tile depth (7mm plus 2-3mm adhesive) will reduce length of back wall by 10mm? Though as that would be case on both return walls then would reduce back wall to 1180. Would still leave only small slithers albeit bigger...

Setting out metro tile pattern to avoid thin slithers

I mean on the return walls. The tray is 1200 by 800. So on the 1200 back wall you wouldn’t quite fit 6 full tiles due to the grout joints. The two return/side walls of the shower enclosure will actually be tiled a bit further than 800 as will extend past screen/tray a bit. Hence thinking best to...

Setting out metro tile pattern to avoid thin slithers

Hi, 1200 wide tray and tiling shower enclosure recess with metro tiles where the 1200 wide wall is the first thing see as enter room hence would want to centre tiles on that wall. That means on alternate rows you would be left c8-10mm short of a full tile at each end given the grout joints...

Grout for white metro tiles and black floor tiles

Thanks. Have you used the matching colour Mapsil silicon too for black 120? From what I’ve seen from a few reviews it is more of a glossy black so I might just use white silicon instead (this is for where metro tiles meet the black floor).

Grout for white metro tiles and black floor tiles

Hi, Need to choose a grout for the above. For the black floor tiles 300x600 am thinking either Mapei black or Larson colourfast anthracite (as have bag of this available) if the Mapei is too black. The floor tiles themselves aren’t jet black so the Mapei black might be too black though do like...

Tiling hallway through to bathroom but needs to be done in two parts

Thank you all for your replies. Can I also ask when you are doing a hallway is it usually done such that length ways you also start from middle so that there will be cut tile at either end or is there a rule where it looks visually better to have the first tile row at hall entrance being full...

Tiling hallway through to bathroom but needs to be done in two parts

Hi, I am planning on getting my hallway tiled and continuing the tiles into the small bathroom off to the left of the hallway (with no door bar or anything so the tiles will just continue into bathroom). I will be getting a tiler to do the work but just wanting to get an idea of how this would...
