hello all,
I'm about to lay 10mm marmox insulation boards onto 12mm ply.
Do I just stick them down using flexible tile adhesive, or is it also wise to screw them down at 300 centres.
If screwing, will the plastic backboard washers be fine with the UFH?
regards

I need to drill a few 10mm holes in some porcelien floor tiles, I have tried a drill bit from screwfix but it didn't make it through one hole (maybe because I didn't use any water).
I have read about the 365 drill bits, anyone recommended something that will do the job that I could also pick up...
Hi,
I have some black polished porcelain tiles in my kitchen, there is a small step, so I need a good quality steel trim but I'm struggling to find any online.
I've looked at Schluter but they seem to be few and far between in the UK, unless I'm looking in the wrong place? I can find loads of...
I've never used any mechanical saws before, all my cutting has been with the hammer and hardie up to now. For the my Roman mosaic copies I buy pre cut marble tesserae (tiles), all with a uniform 10mm thickness but an irregular profile.
The finished mosaic looks as if all the tesserae have been...
Hi folks.
Fitting a 1600 shower-bath in a 1625 gap, and taking into account the tiles and adhesive, the bath will leave an 18mm gap (give or take).
I cant really dot/dab plasterboard to either sidewall to make the gap up, as one has a door, and the other has a window.
The rest of the...
Guys, I have just ripped out a bathroom and walls are pretty poor, some skimmed, some plaster basecoat pulled off back to bare brick. I would like to take it all back to brick and 'smooth' over to take porc. What is best way to do this apart from dot'n'dab plasterboard. I need to be tiling...
OK guys, as some of you know, I took delivery of one of these vicious looking trowels a week ago and have started a job today with a bit of floor tiling on it - so thought I would give it a go:thumbsup:
At first it looks like a weapon of war and the plate size is slightly larger than standard...
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me where i could buy 10mm white plastic tile trims. Ive tried topps, b&q, wickes and focus but all they do is 6, 9 and 12.5mm trims.
I'm in bristol, so any shops around here would be good, but if anyone has any links for websites that sell them that would be great...
I've been asked to quote a half finished floor.
There 'builder' fixed 10m2 60x30 porc to the existing concrete substrate but continued it over 13m2 of parkay flooring with ever-bond. It didn't adhere so they now would like me to finish the job properly.
The parkay has been lifted and now...
I have purchased some tiles 10mm thick (400x300mm ceramic). The window wall and main bath wall are plaster. the overbath shower wall is plasterboard. Will this be okay or am i taking a chance on the plaster wall? If okay what primer and adhesive and grout could anyone recommend? Any help...
I'm tiling a kitchen between the units with 100 x 100 ceramic tiles. I have nearly completed one wall which was nice and level, but the second is running out by 10mm.
The walls are plastered so I've primed with BAL sbr and I'm using BAL green star ready mix addy.
Unfortunately the tiles were...
I'm currently fixing 330x250 ceramic tiles to the wall with a 6mm wall trowell using weber fix plus (max bed 3mm) i'm finding that although i tried to get the wall as level as poss before starting that using these bigger tiles its much harder to get them all level. Can i not just use a 10mm...
Could anyone offer guidance to a capable DIYer on cutting granite tiles please?
I COULD use my B&D 4in Angle grinder with a diamond disc but I really want something to produce absolutely straight cuts to make upstands for the skirting. A bit less dust would be welcome, too!

Just thought it woud be good to try and find the cheapest priced tools around by naming a certain tool and using all of our contacts to find the cheapest supplier.
10mm Square Notched Trowel, how much would you pay for this tool from your supplier?
