Hello All,
After a few months respite I'm back. Some of you may recall my pre-Christmas dilemma with laying 30+sqm porcelain on what I thought was a unlevel slab. Well I heeded everyone's advice and got a professional tiler in who did a superb job and it turned out the floor was only 5mm lower...
I've been to look at a screed part of which is 20mm higher than the rest . Easy option screed up , but that's going to take £700 of levelling .
So options I see .
Grind it , score/cut into sections with disc cutter and kango or take that piece of screed right out .
Any bright ideas and options...
20mm external porcelain is a huge opportunity for tilers and at TileFix we are trying to make life simpler for tilers. Leaving exposed edge 20mm porcelain can be very unsightly. Grinding a profile can look great.. on through colour, but not so good on glazed. The new 20mm PorcelQuick 316...
got a new blade from Alan @ATSDiamondTools this week to cut some 20mm porcelain .
put it in a Rubi TC 180 and cut about 80 ln mts and was very impressed. Very clean, chip free cut in one pass.
Wanting to get best prep on a block and beam floor fibre reinforced screed. I have tiled outside before matting etc was ever used. What I normally do is prime, anti fracture tile? On balconys where there is bitumen I would use the floating system (cant think of the name) water runs out from...

hi all,
Looking for some advice. Tiling 20mm thick brick slips onto 12mm ply wood on the walls. It is fixed very well. I am just wondering what prep people would do and what adhesive you would use. Changing the ply for plasterboard or hardi is not a option.
Looking for some recommendations on a good blade for my grinder. Used for a stone job I have coming up 20mm thick (Jaipur brushed) is the name of the stone
Stone supplier has recommended fitting their 20mm (900x600) stone outside on a 50mm sand/cement bed over hardcore. Sbr slurry on the back to reduce staining.
Anyone believe this is a correct method of installation or what are your alternatives.
Your thoughts please.
Hi I have recently took on a big patio area floor job to be tiled in 20mm thick porcelian and was just wondering if anyone had any tips for cutting these monsters. I have a sigma 3p3m and rubi tx cutters that supposedly cut upto 20mm thick but don't they are going to cut these. Any help would be...
