I've had a Makita lot 18 v lion 3.0 bga452z for only 9 months and it's packed up.
i know it gets a lot of use on porcelain and 20mm stone but a bit surprised.
is there a more heavy duty / robust one of any model that you could suggest.

While I know that the likes of Marcrist Norton and Montolit produce some fine wheels for cutting. Sometimes they can be overkill. I have been thinking of the more reasonably priced wheels for ceramics. For porcelain I would still favour the higher spec wheel.

Hello, I'm about to fit 12mm 600 x 300mm porcelain tiles to my bathroom, and have decided to cut all notches & squares in the tiles using an angle grinder. Question is which diamond disc do I go for to acheive clean cuts, one with cuts in it or a smooth type?

Anybody come across an angle grinder that has a 20mm arbor as opposed to the usual 22mm one? I came across some diamond blades when I was in East Asia that are 105mm with a 20mm centre - I just wonder what they're used in.

I would just like some advice on the advantages of using an angle grinder on tiles,do they make cutting curves alot easier and how easy are they to use/what type of blade is best? Also whats a good one to buy?

Sounds rash I know, however I wish to cut a straight line alonfg some vertical wall tiles to slip in underneath a marble shelf. I wondered if I could use an angle grinder to cut back an edge? :helpsmilie
