Hello,
We've discovered I think terracotta tiles underneath a vinyl floor in our kitchen. I'm able to remove the vinyl tiles using a chisel, but there is a residue of grout and/or levelling compound left on the tiles. The stuff will come off eventually with loads of hard scrubbing, but I was...
i am tiling from top to bottom of the bathroom walls and then having lino/vinyal (some call it either but its from Carpet Right and its the flexible rubber stuff not the hard stuff, its soft under foot like a carpet).
whats the best way to make a neat edge from the tiles to the vinyal...
I'm doing out my main bathroom now, and the wall that runs the length of the bath has rendered plasterboard stuck to the blockwork. I was planning on using aquapanel for all of my tile backing boards. , The 2 other walls around the bath are studded, so I was just going to beef up the noggins...

I have laid my 18m sq natural slate patio, cleaned it and sealed it once, using Fila products.
I started grouting using BAL grout and a motar cartridge gun (which makes the job so easy and less messy)
I have had real problems cleaning the grout off the slate, its was very hot so the grout...
I've done about 10 tiling jobs,
sometimes I get the Tile Trim spot on, other times it just bothers me.
My biggest issue is that I am a major perfectionist bordering on OCD!!
So, where I am using tile trim on a corner,
do I lay a bed of adhesive first, then sit the trim on, then measure up, cut...

So whats the best way forward? Only have 2 1/2 days to get job done.

12mm height difference - width of the door.
Had to use 18mm ply in bathroom and 6mm cement board in hallway - different tiles but same thickness.
Could I pack out most of the depth with cement board then use grout to profile the slope?
Any other ideas?
Hi all,
I'm almost finished my second job, but I've hit an issue with the window frame. The bathroom I'm tiling has been all over the place. It's a single room converted from a separate bathroom and W.C. When the partition wall was taken down the render was about 1/2 an inch shallower in the...
Hi all, hopefully i've dropped this in the right section as couldn't really find anything for newbies - anyway.... If anyone saw my introduction post then you would know that i've decided to have a complete career change into trying my hand at tiling.
I'm 28, soon to be 29 so want to get a...

Got some walls to tile that have been plastered and painted previously, what is the best way to prepare?
On the new plasterboard i have used some of the Bal acrylic primer and it does say to dilute on old walls , why is this surely it would be better undiluted?
