Do i need to prime the walls with anything? I use rapid set mapei wall tile adhesive and the brick slips will be made of sand and cement not clay. So basically concrete based...

Hi there everyone. What a fantastic forum. I have taken out the bathroom in our 1930s bungalow. The floor was tiled, and well stuck down. Removing the tiles has revealed a layer of bitumen painted onto concrete. The floor is solid and isn't likely to move. My question is this...what kind of...
Having decided I was bored of a living room devoid of personality, I decided I wanted to go with the Victorian library look. A big part of that is having a false chimney breast installed to replace the hard wired fire suite and having the chamber of said chimney breast tiled with brick slips. As...
Hi Tilers, this is my first question on this forum and I've got a few different areas to cover!
I am a DIYer, working on renovating a kitchen, utility room and cloakroom/shower room. My previous experience of tiling is using large format porcelain tiles onto cement/foam backer board, on floors...

I'd like to install brick slips on a wall of my kitchen as a form of splashback. I want to make this as easy to clean as possible (fake tiles are just not authentic enough) so what sealant is recommended for this type of job?

Hi All
I got some slips laid at the front of my house and I’m not happy with the job - some of the rows are a bit off, and when I challenged the brickie he said the slips are not cut straight and couldn’t be laid straight so I told him to stop the job. My assumption is despite brick slips being...

hi all,
Looking for some advice. Tiling 20mm thick brick slips onto 12mm ply wood on the walls. It is fixed very well. I am just wondering what prep people would do and what adhesive you would use. Changing the ply for plasterboard or hardi is not a option.
Whats best place to get real brick slips?
Tried CTD, Topps, Tile Giant and Jewson and no one does them. Could get them online but prefer to see them first.
Thanks
Had a customer contact me a month or so ago, listed building, want old looking brick floor.
They have found and bought some brick's cut into slips from eastern Europe, look ok, so gave a price to fix, grout and seal.
They didn't know what colour grout to go with so did a sample board, but the...
Hi, I would welcome some advice as I have got myself into a pickle.

Starting a shower room on Monday and my customer informed me yesterday she has picked slate brickslips (see pic) as a 300 wide vertical border on the wall up the centre of a 1700 shower tray.. The shower area will be tanked but am a little concerned these shouldn't perhaps be used in a wet...
Hi All
I have been asked to tile the insides of an old chimney breast that is going to have a log burner fitted once tiled.
Any hints and tips please......like is it best to pre seal the slips before tiling?.....prefered tile adhesive?.....
Thanks in advance
Anyone wanting brick slips doing should give pjc off this forum a call. His lads have just finished on a job I recommended him for and the work is top quality. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him again. The two blokes he sent were great and left the site nice and tidy as well.
