Morning all!
Had one of those middle of the night brainwaves last night that has got me thinking. When installing Ditra I usually back fill the square dovetail cavities with adhesive as I am laying the tiles. I have tried the technique of some by skimming the whole area beforehand, letting this...
Hi Guys
What are your opinions regarding the usability between Ditra and Durabase matting? I do like the mesh on the top of the Durabase, seems to bind onto the adhesive better but have heard Durabase can be a bit more curly when initially laying it out flat?
Also, was anyone effected by that...
Is it me, or am I missing something ?? Mapeii technical say that their rapid set is fine for Anhydrate screed but isn't suitable for laying on ditra !! and Ardex X7R is suitable for Anhydrate screed and ditra... ??

Customer asked today could I lay ditra onto floor boards instead of using hbb. I dont feel comfortable doing this what do you guys think is the best approach
Just wanted to see what you guys are using to fix Durabase or Ditra to a ply subtrate. Interesting for me as I have switched across to using a vinyl acrylic adhesive as it is a more economical option. It seems I am always late to the party!

Substructure is 18mm WBP ply (primed on back and sides) onto noggin'd and shuttered floor joists, screwed at 200mm centres.
Then 10mm Marmox...

A question:
1. Would you run the decoupling membarane right over the area to create a single skin. For example if one area of the room is 6mtrs long by 3mtrs wide and...

Good Evening.
Will be laying soon some ditra matting and will be using Kerraquick and the latex.
Has anybody used this combination before?
If so did it bond well with the fleece and how long before it had fully cured?
Thanks.
Kevin
Hope someone can help. I'm having my kitchen refurbished and want to install UFH. The current floor looks as though it is tile on tile as, at the hall door threshold, it sits the thickness of a tile plus adhesive proud of the hall flooring. I also suspect that the concrete floor substrate is not...
