Hello to all again,
I am thinking of applying Durabase ci to my wall prior to fitting a single column of 300x300 mosaic tiles.
What type of adhesive should i use to fix the Durabase - does it matter ??
The idea came from this link:-...

Hi Guys
What are your opinions regarding the usability between Ditra and Durabase matting? I do like the mesh on the top of the Durabase, seems to bind onto the adhesive better but have heard Durabase can be a bit more curly when initially laying it out flat?
Also, was anyone effected by that...
Just wanted to see what you guys are using to fix Durabase or Ditra to a ply subtrate. Interesting for me as I have switched across to using a vinyl acrylic adhesive as it is a more economical option. It seems I am always late to the party!

A question:
1. Would you run the decoupling membarane right over the area to create a single skin. For example if one area of the room is 6mtrs long by 3mtrs wide and...

Hello people,
I'm restoring an old house and I am about to cover the floors with ceramic tiles. The problem is that the floor consists only in a mortar layer laid over some gravel directly on the soil. The mortar layer has some cracks and recently I've found (while opening paths for electrical...

I will be pricing up a job for someone using 500x500 porcelains (apparently). I have not yet been to measure up so do not know how big an area is being covered but being porcelain and the size of the tiles am I right in thinking an uncoupling membrane is a must.
Where do you all get your...
Bit of info on Durabase...
The problem
Most people have had issues in a wet area, where they have found tiles to crack over time and leaks appear to the room below or cause damage to the substrate below.
Moisture from above
Tiling in itself is not waterproof: junctions to fittings and...
After using Schluter Ditra for nearly ten years, I got a call from my supplier saying it will be increasing by £40 per 30metre roll. So I've decided to give Darabase CI a try.
Now I can't find a supplier in Scotland, but have found one to supply at £185 per roll with another 10% for regular...
Hi All,
is there some guidelines I can stick to regarding floor preparation,
I get confused as in which situation I should be also using a product like Ditra or Durabase,
or just ply or cement boards
any advise would be appreciated
cheers guys
Dave
I've got this for my tiler to use on a wetroom.
I have emailed Dural about this question but not had a reply yet.
Which primer/adhesive would you recommend (is required) to use with it.
Is there any limitation on the weight of the wall tiles that can be used with it.
thanks, Owen.
Hi,
I am tanking my wetroom with the above products. Should I start with the little corner pieces then lay the C1 on the floor and say 75mm up the walls then do the walls with the WP?
Is the C1 suitable for folding up the walls to form the watertight seal?
Thanks
Carl
Hi,
Gonna tile two 3mt bathroom floors ,both downstairs this week. The floor is chipboard, but feels really solid, anyway I normally ply em out, but am thinking I could use 6mm hardibacker boards or ive seen in Topps this Durabase crack suppression system.
It will probably cost a bit more, but...
I'm looking for a decent price on Ci and would be interested to know where everyone is buying theirs at the minute?
I would need to be able to get it posted to me though:thumbsup:
i just tanked around my shower former with durabase wp. i used 10kg of mapei keraquick mixed with 3kg of mapei latex plus (and no water), i started off well with the flexi strip but when i came to lay the wp mat over the shower former the adhesive had dried out alot. the end result was slightly...
