    why are round notched trowels not easy to buy?

    Everywhere i go seems to have only square notch trowels. I want to use a round notched 8mm trowel to lay insulation board and a 10mm one to lay tiles (managed to get the 10mm) but the 8 is proving very hard to find! any reason? should i just use a square notch? pros cons?

    Easy UFH question.

    The probe that come with heating mat I'm looking at is 3m long. Does that mean 3m along the floor, or 3m from the thermostat, down the wall then onto the floor (only have 2.2m length on floor so worried probe will be too long. Thank you :)

    Small job to retile a kitchen splashback but I suggested that removing the old tiles was a good idea as they were having new worktops fitted.
