I have been trying to clean the Victorian encaustic tiles in my hallway. I got them a lot cleaner using KF Tile Restorer, which I followed with Stain Stop. However the Stain Stop has a matt finish and I'd like them slightly shiny if possible, and to try and bring out the colours a bit more...

We have taken up the carpet in the hallway of our old house to expose the original black and buff quarry tiles. However, there are several problems. The tiles have at some point in the past been screeded over and it has proved impossible to remove most of the screed without cracking the tiles...

Hi all. First time poster on here so please bear with me!
I'm laying a Victorian mosaic floor as a pathway to the front door. See pic for an attempted dry layout. Any of you guys have any tips on a) what grout to use outdoors for these, and b) what sealant to use once they're properly cleaned...

I am a newbie on the forum and wanted to ask a question about sourcing replacement tiles for our dining floor that we are trying to restore.
The tiles are mainly red and 'yellow' with a black border. Approximately 50% are cracked or chipped and need replacing. We have tried to source some...

Hi. I've bought some really nice reclaimed Victorian floor tiles to do the pathway to the front of my Victorian house (see picture). However the more I more read about it the more daunted I am by the job of laying them. The actual area to be paved it only about 1.5m2. Is there anyone in London...

I went to see a job today where the builder tried to do the tiling and bailed the job when he realised it was going pear shaped. Believe me it looks worse than it looks in the pics. Well at least he stopped without wasting too many tiles!

For anyone who might be interested in learning this type of work TJ and I are thinking of setting up a course, to explain the techniques and setting out basics for this once highly skilled craft.
I think these skills should be kept alive, or the next generation of tilers will miss out.

I’ve been asked to quote for laying a Victorian floor on the ground floor of a block of luxury flats.
I asked a few questions and have been told that this is the only way in/out of the flats. The base is concrete slab and the square meterage is approx. 7sqm including 2 steps. The customer says...
Hi guys,
I am going to attempt to repair and restore the Victorian mosaic quarry tiles in the entrance to my house.
The area is only around 3 metres square and is in the porchway, so is somewhat open to the elements (no front door). There are three areas where the ground seems to have pushed...

Hi,
Looking for someone to restire Victorian (Minton) hallway in Leicester (8m long, 0.8 wide). In fairly good nick but with a few 'lifted' areas (probably movement) and some cracked tiles. Some photos below.
Looking to have it 'fixed', cleaned and sealed.
Cheers

Hi, the current path (approx. 4m x 1m) is laid with original Victorian black and white tiles, but there is not enough slope to produce a run off for the water. Any amount of rain and a big puddle forms across the path plus all the dirt collects there when the rain stops. Ideally, I would like to...
