exterior
In mathematics, specifically in topology,
the interior of a subset S of a topological space X is the union of all subsets of S that are open in X.
A point that is in the interior of S is an interior point of S.
The interior of S is the complement of the closure of the complement of S.
In this sense interior and closure are dual notions.
The exterior of a set S is the complement of the closure of S; it consists of the points that are in neither the set nor its boundary.
The interior, boundary, and exterior of a subset together partition the whole space into three blocks (or fewer when one or more of these is empty).
The interior and exterior of a closed curve are a slightly different concept; see the Jordan curve theorem.
Hi,
I've laid an external porcelain patio on a sand and cement bed with ultrascape priming slurry. It was layed just under 5 weeks ago. I am wanting to grout the patio but am concerned about doing it when it is wet/not fully dry I wouldn't be concerned if it hadn't been raining so much but...
Hello,
First post here on the forum. Thanks for reading!
I have an application for 1" limestone at 14" x 3 1/2" on an exterior Pressure treated post which is buried into the grade and sitting on a deep level wood piling. The post will finished on all 4 sides. Just the bottom 2 feet. Above...
Hello,
I have some lovely Mexican terracotta tiles (glazed on one side only) which are meant for interior use only.
I am trying to work out if I can seal the tiles with something to make them frost proof, and then stick them to a rendered exterior wall that has been painted. This is not new...
Hi
Has anyone used a grout colourant that is suitable for outdoors? If so which one would they recommend?
I have a porcelaine patio and the grout is patchy am wondering if a grout colourant would help even out the colour?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi,
Didn’t know where else to post. Want to use this Roman Travertine as rain screen facade in the UK. Anyone have any experience with this on exterior walls and how it will weather in the UK. Will be a large area outside will it stand up to the British weather in years to come?
Thanks
Hi everyone
I'd like to ask for some advice about what glazed tiles are suitable for exterior use.
We'd like to tile a light well outside a basement window with some white glazed 'metro' style tiles.
I'm struggling to find information about what tiles we should use, and potentially where to...
Installing tiles 400x600 over an exposed exterior cement screed - it has 20mm fall over 2300mm length away from house (5750mm width) but there might be little pits and bumps of a couple mm or so. Tiling directly on the screed seems risky to say the least outside with temperature fluctuations and...
I have pulled up and cleaned the existing tiles and have relaid the whole concrete slab to make a solid base.
I have quite a bit of tiling experience being a property developer but i haven't done this type of work before.
Looking at other examples on the street, the tiles are butted next to...
I have a patio tiled with tumbled grey limestone. Every year I clean it and seal with LTP stone oil, using a small brush to work the oil into the stone and wipe any excess off. This year had it pressure washed which was faster but it looks paler to me. The normal colour is a charcoal grey and...
Hi all,
I have recently sealed my natural stone patio and have found that when it gets wet it leaves a white mark almost as if the sealant has been lifted.
I have read another thread that says this is because one of two things has happened, either the sealer was not applied correctly and...
Hi,I need some advice on a exterior patio I have been asked to tile.I have been tiling for approx 3 & half years & have undertaken a lot of interior floors but not outside. The slab to tile on is approx 15 sq meters & is a rapid set fibre based screed which has been down for 4 months & the tiles...
I never tile over tiles. However, in this case I have a small area that is a shop front and I'm told there is a void behind. I know I could remove the old tiles and assess the substrate, reboarding it if removal of old tiles causes damage, but the existing tiles are sound and I'm tempted to go...
I’m pricing a job which is 26m2 of front garden path to be tiled with old English geometric tiles.
The old concrete path will be taken up, and a new base putting down. I will be getting a firm in to do this work, but I want the best solution for the base, that will take these tiles without...
First time post to ask all you experts on here-thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
I have built a pizza oven (imagine an igloo shape) which I intend to tile with a glass mosaic type of tile which will need to be frost proof but not heat proof as I have loads of insulation in...
I need to bring up some sections of an outside concrete area to level it off prier to tiling, am I correct in thinking that Ardex K301 Exterior Levelling Compound is my only option. The area is not subject to rain as such as it has a poly carbonate roof but rain does get blown under it is also...
As part of a project, I need to find a large format porcelain for an exterior patio.
I understand that thin porcelain will need more preparation in terms of ground works (eg. Screeded bed) whereas thicker porcelain (eg. 20mm) is less fussy and can be laid on a sand/cement bed.
The LAB325...
I've got a client with a slate entrance and terrace that needs cleaning. I went into my local hardware store and asked "Do you have a cleaner for slate?" and was given this...
Well I suppose I got what I asked for..
Good to see a fully labeled package with all the instructions and warnings you...
