We are replacing an old fireplace surround for a new marble one. The old surround has been ripped out and the wall re-plastered (hardwall and multi-finish) today. Do you guys reckon we would be safe to install the new fireplace on Friday (i.e. the plaster would have only had 2 days to dry) using...
hi all,got an enquiry regarding these tiles for a fireplace which is in use with coal...are they suitable in your opinions?
i was thinking they may take on some dicolouration after a while?
I am in the process of mounting 12"x36" tiles to an existing brick fireplace. I was thinking the best route would be to apply bonding agent to the bricks, let dry then apply standard thinset using a large square notched trowel to mount the tiles. Also back butter each tile for adhesion. Any...

I have fitted aquapanel (cement board) on the front of my new hole-in-the-wall gas fireplace, this is where the problems start! (I probably should have used Supalux in hind sight)
The temperature...
Hi All.
We're going to be tiling around a newly installed multi fuel stove (4Kw) and just wondering if there is any special adhesive that we should use. The tiles are all porcelain 10 x 10 and much larger on the hearth 30 x 60. Would a standard B&Q porcelain tile adhesive do?

I have an old very uneven concrete base which I need to self level then tile. The Everyread self leveling compound says that I should use PVA for bonding. I've seen others comment that you don't need to prime first. Can somebody please give me a definitive answer?
Thanks for reading.

Hi. I have just bought a house, and a stove...
