Hi All
looking at a bathroom today, all the walls need boarding which would either be fixed to joists or to brickwork, the customers looking at a tile size of 600x300mm, hasn't choose the tile, just the size!!! so could be porcelain.
Bath suite is out so no chew with boarding.

Hi All
I am trying to fix some broken tiles in a couple of wet rooms in a customers house. When I took up the first few tiles they seem to be on some kind of rubber/ bitumen elastic membrane which I have never seen before. Have any of you seen this before and how should I go about fixing the new...
I had a wet room installed just under four years back in a complete new build house. The wet room has now developed a minor leak. The fitter had used Wedi boards and some sort of glue on the top of them (sorry don't know my stuff that well) He has been out to have a look and says that with the...
We had 1,000 sq feet of 18x18 rectified porcelain installed. There are several spots where the installer screwed up and the edges are slightly lifted, just enough to be visible and sharp to bare feet. It's a real shame. He is looking into polishing the floor, but I am hesitant. The design looks...

I did some tiling for a lady a few months ago. She called me back yesterday for me to give her a quote for tiling another room. She told me that last time I put the trim on her bathroom window the wrong way round. When I looked at it it was fine. She explained to me that it was not put on the...
Hi all.
I have just been back to a house where i have installed a full bathroom and ensuite in Durham. Jobs were completed a year ago. The issue is that in both rooms the floor tiles have come completely loose and grout has cracked.
Both rooms have 12mm ply screwed at approx 150mm centres...
Hi was just wondering if anyone on the forum had any experience with gran fix epoxy. I've never used this one and the customer has already bought the addy and grout. For the last few years when I've used epoxy its been from nicobond.
Is there any tips or tricks I should know?
Hi people,
You'd probably be aware of weird glitches in the forum when it comes to loading pages and replying to posts. The forum would lose connection to the server.
This *should* be fixed now. I'm still testing, but it does appear to be okay now.
We've upgraded the PHP version on the...
Our shower has been dripping for about six months, since we changed the boiler to a combi. This has led to some dripping under the bath (I think a dodgy seal around the plug hole) and is generally causing problems. So on the weekend I put in some isolation valves and removed the shower - with a...

Hi,
A while back I did my first tiling job (DIY). I'm quite pleased with it.
One problem I had was that I used a textured tile, and I found it quite hard to remove all the grout from the tile when cleaning up.
I used too much water and as a result the grout I used (grey) has become washed...

What options have you used when it comes to fixing hollow tiles?
Is there something you can inject at all? Perhaps when underfloor heating has been commissioned a little too early and only a few tiles have suffered?
Or would you just recommend a rip out and fresh start, just to be safe?
Installation of natural stone tiles can cause discolouration? Poor tile installation and fitting of natural stone surfaces is often the cause of discolouration of the surface. Natural stone tiles should always be buttered on the back and then laid into an even bed of … Continue reading →...
