Everytime I seem to come accross tiles from BnQ there are massive inconsistencies, the last job I done was 30 x 30 floor tiles and most of them were a different size, some were 3 to 5mm out, I know it says 30 x 30 (approx) on the box but that takes the micheal a bit. It took me an age sorting...
Hi guys,
I'm fixing a sink to a tiled stud wall. Wall is 12mm plasterboard. Just wondered what best practice was. Tiles are white ceramics.
I was going to use plaster board wall plugs but know its best not to put any stress on the tiles. Any advice would be greatfully received.
Cheers Smithy

Hi Guys,
I have been asked to quote for quite a large area of riven slate to be fixed outdoors. It seems that the "middleman" on this particular job reckons it should all be fixed using sand and cement.
Please can you help me out with good reasons why it shouldn't be done his way?

Hi,
My first post, hope I'm doing it right....
I am planning to tile my bathroom floor and then fix a new toilet to it. The toilet is a back-to-the-wall one with enclosed cystern. Question is: Do I need to fit anything between toilet base and tiles? - i.e. gasket or putty / silicon sealant etc...
Had a "professional" tiler do the floor in the conservatory, after a few months the tiles started lifting, because I think he used the wrong grout/adhesive for the underfloor heating (of which he knew about).
Anyway this has clearly put me off using "professionals", so tackling the problem...
Evenin' all, first timer here.
My minion is currently installing a new bathroom for me, and my wife has insisted on these goddamn porcelain tiles which are starting to seem to be more hassle than they at first seemed.

Hello,
My bathroom tiles are 250x400mm and the walls are made of brick
I noticed that the tiler "buttered" the back of the tiles to place them on the wall but (at least while I was watching) did not appear to also spread the adhesive on the wall.
However, from what I can gather from my reading...
I have a question about different methods of setting (fixing) tiles to flooring.:mad2:
All manufactures of tile adhesives/glues state that concrete or sand/cement screeds should be allowed to cure for a certain amount of time before the application of tiles.
I understand this.
What I don't...
