Hi all
I'm aware that I should be Silicon-ing in the corner of my fully tiled (wet) room.
The corners will be butt joints, as in I will tile one wall (with some margin for error) and then tile the other one up to it with a neat gap for Silicon.
1) What gap is recommended large enough for...
Hi, a few tiles keep falling off in the shower enclosure.
Any tips on the best material to use to replace the plaster. Pink area in the middle.
Thinking sand and cement (4/1 parts) or aquapanel piece screwed in.
thanks,

Hi all
Having a nightmare with a new quadrant shower that was been fitted (not yet completed due to some cosmetic touch ups and the plastic cover at the front to hide the pipework being on order) and was hoping for some advice.
The shower tray has seemingly been fitted too far back on one...
Hello,
I'm renovating our very small bathroom and the most efficient and ergonomic solution means that a 1500 tub is installed.
We'd like to install a L-shaped tub as opposed to a P-shaped, but it means that the tub would overhang the (disproportionately) large window by about 3-4".
I have...
Hi, I am wondering if anyone is able to apply mastic neatly to bumpy tiles i.e. this one. Eminence Johnson Tiles.
Eminence Tile Satin White
Being the genuis i am, decided to go for these tiles. Plumber been wonderful, he is just worried he won't be able to make sillicone look neat.

First post :)
I'm having to refit a first floor shower alcove in a 20 year old house that has suffered water damage from the shower to the floorboards & stud wall. Construction is 22mm V313 MR chipboard floor on treated 9x2 timber joists at 600 centres with the 1000x800 alcove formed of...
Can anyone help with our dilemma. We have purchased and fitted a sureform wet room shower tray. It is 1100 by 770 the drain is off set. Which on purchasing did not take into account the problem it was going to cause. We are still to tank and lay the underfloor heating. We thought we would dry...
Hi -- I'd be very grateful for any advice anyone could give me.
I'm a general contractor rather than a specialist tiler. I've installed bathrooms before in the course of general home renovation, so I've been able to get the floors up, fix and reinforce joists where necessary, and install...
Hello again.
Got the kit laid out and ready to lay the first tiles after a challenging time with the shower tray. Just a couple of answers would help me out a great deal.
1) The centre wall for the shower is 1400mm, tiles 200x100. Accounting for 2mm for expansion at either end and 2mm grout...
Hi all
New to the forum, anyone have an idea how to clean and get these white stains off a newly installed black slate shower tray (8 months ago), my wife have stupidly used a product called ViaKal and it might have damaged the surface - but im unsure if this is stain or damaged.
I would be...
Hi,
DIYer here and I'm going to rip up my shower floor which is currently tiled and put down some large ceramic tiles (90x14x1cm) instead. I don't know what the sub-floor is but guessing it's wood. I have a couple of questions - I did have a quick browse of the forum but couldn't see the exact...
Hi,
We recently had a tiler raise an existing shower floor to turn it into a walk-in disabled shower. Unfortunately they stuffed up the fall levels and the water runs out the side and they need to do it again. However we have also since wondered about whether the shower needed to be...
I have 20l of Nassboards latex tanking paint but am unsure if a primer is required?
The substrate is cement board which is clean and not dusty.
If I do need a primer can I use 50/50 PVA or must it be something expensive!
I have also been looking for a good value tape for the joints and am put...
this is my first property i am renovating. i have made the niche so far from stud and the back i have used 12mm plywood and sealed using ob1 sealant/adhesive. I have already purchased some aquapanels to use. would it be best screw the aquapanel in the niche and use the knauf joint adhesive, then...
Hi all,
DIYer here. I'll be fitting a new shower tray soon and boarding the walls with Marmox. My intention was to board the walls first then fit the tray, filling any small gap around the tray with a quality sealant (recommendations?). Once tiled, the tiles would overlap the tray, leaving a...
Hi all,
I’m about to fit a new walk in shower and have stripped the existing bathroom. The room is 1530 wide by 2100mm long. I intend to fit a 1500 wide shower tray at one end of the room, however, I need to deal with the 30mm of extra space. I can make up the extra 30mm in waterproof...
Hello!
I am about to lay a walk in shower with 120cm X 20 cm tiles.
In general the room will be a "brick" type layout.
The walk in shower is closed on 3 sides and borderless on the front.
The drain is a hole type drain which is off center, which means I will have to generally cut the 'v...
Hi,
We have just done some bathroom modifications privately to level out a shower floor for an elderly disabled bathroom. We just did the shower area and not the whole bathroom (so only the pink tiles are new). The water is flowing outside of the shower, suggesting the fall levels are not...
Kind tilers out there: the back wall of my glass shower cubicle is 990mm but the plumber centred the mixer lever for a 1000mm shower. I am going to tile with a 600 x 300mm tile (in landscape stack), I don't know how to lay it out. Is it better to:
1) have a grout line running plumb from the...
I'm tiling an en-suite shower (it has one of those bog-standard heavy cast-concrete (?) and enamel bases if that makes a difference).
I am not an experienced tiler, so I'm doing my learning.
Looking on the YouTubes, nobody seems to be using that concave shower tray trim anymore, (that would go...
