I have never tiled anythign in my life so excuse my ignorance. A friend helped me tile a small corner shower in 13" x 13" porcelain tiles. All has gone relatively well however on both edges I have chosen to finish it with an aluminum edge. In my mind the tile should reach the edge of not...
Hi i've started to tile my shower enclosure and at the tiles at the bottom next to the tray ive got a gap around 20mm. I've obviously messed up with the measurements as it was only meant to be around 10mm!
Is this gap too big to seal with Silicon?
If so what would be the best course of action...

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help. I've recently finished tiling our floor with large porcelain tiles, 100 m2 total surface area. It's an old stone farmhouse and the bare stone walls are obviously very uneven (If you put a straight edge along the wall there would be gaps up to 8 cm).
I've cut...

Hi there, would anyone advise me on how big should be my expansion gap if I use large tiles (415x315 with 8mm depth),
also, corners are never even, so If I leave 10mm gap I wont have similar corner gap,
so should I keep measuring and cut them with different sizes to achieve a straight line up...
Hi Just went back to check on tiler - who wasn't there and there was a gap running up the corners - the tiles fit snuggly at the bottom but as it goes up the wall the gap gets bigger is there a way round this as thin slithers of the glass tile is gong to be very tricky surely?
Hello everybody
I have a horizontal gap of about an inch along one side of the shower tray and the wall. The other two sides of the shower tray are tiled and siliconed onto the tray, the forth has the shower door. I've had a leak along the horizontal gap. This had been tiled, but the tiles...
Hi Folks,
I have nearly finished tiling my bathroom and am getting to the point of grouting/Silicon. One wall is lower than the rest, however, so the ceiling slopes down to it - I wasn't really thinking when tiling along it and I should have mitred the tiles, but haven't so there is quite a...

Hi all,
We were feeling all very pleased with our first attempt at a tiling job until we started thinking about how to finish the tiles at the ceiling. Examining a B&B's bathroom one weekend we noticed their apparently immaculate 2mm grout lines at the ceiling. Then we went back and looked at...
Hi Guys
Am a complete amateur but would appreciate some suggestions. We have an old house with downstairs shower room. I have replaced the tray and now have a gap between the tray and the old quarry tile floor floor that is about 2 inches wide and an inch deep. Can you guys suggest a material...
Evening all
Just removed tiles in a kitchen and the substrate is plaster which has some big chunks missing approx 1 inch deep. I would normally skim the walls flat, but I want to know what I could use so I can tile onto without a long delay. The tiles going on are small ceramics approx 20 x 10...
I am tiling my bathroom, it is my first wall tiling project (have done a couple of floors). When deciding the layout I had to make a decision about where to have a narrow cut (I did the tile height story stick), for better or worse I decided to have this at the ceiling (I would have placed this...
Hi all,
Firstly, just wanted to say hi and say how impressive the quality and quantity of advice is on this forum :2thumbsup: (particularly for newbies and beginners such as myself).
Secondly..... as the title suggests; I've cleaned off the old Silicon around the bath in our house and the...
After some professional advise please guys...
What size grout gap would you recommend on
1. 500 x 250 wall tile.
2. 450 x 450 floor tile
both used in the same area.
Also what is the more preferred choice wedges or spacers ?
Just trying to do the best possible job.
Hi,
Was wondering if anyone could advise on the above? We've had a leaking shower tray onto the ceiling below for years, just keep patching it up and putting a box underneath to collect the leaking. Now, after removing the tiles at the bottom of the shower tray, looks like there is a large...
