First off, my apologies for being AWOL for months (maybe years).
I recently completed a polished silver travertine floor, pic attached.
I sealed it with LTP MPG and carried out a water test, pic attached.
I received a call 2 weeks later to say that one of the children had spilt a full glass of...
Hi - I have made a boo boo. I have stuck the AquaMat100 electrich heating to the RIW tanking membrane without removing the backing film. The backing film has stuck to the RIW like you wouldnt believe, so I cant remove it. Do you think it will be ok to tile over the heating mat with the plastic...

What would you advise ?
Im thinking rip up the floor boards and ply with correct size, then Duralbase through the both rooms.
Any other options ?

Just tiled a wall in an en-suite with 200 x 250 glazed ceramics from BCT. Neither I nor the customer noticed some tiles a different shade until grouted. Tiles were picked from different boxes during tiling. Boxes had no batch number on but shop confirmed to the customer they're all one batch at...

So ive essentially created a suicide step into my loungeroom. It is only about an 80mm step and because all the grout lines follow, when walking down the step you cant tell its there
when walking up, i am putting a border/darker colour tile on the face so you can see it there but walking down...
I have a problem with a wet room I installed just over a year ago.
My client is getting a small leak appearing downstairs, we have removed some of the ceiling and can see the leak coming between the ply and tray former.
The room had 25mm ply and tray former laid, tanking membrane to walls and...
Evening all!
I am putting in a price for tiling of 20 bathrooms in a hotel refurb. If we win the work ai am planning on getting
the customer to sign a contract, covering the price (er obviously!), and payment terms etc.
Does anyone have any experience of this and can i get hold of a sample...

Hi Guys,
I'm after a little advice ? I'm just in the process of pricing the following job, the spec is 600x600 callibrated slate tiles on a split substrate (sand and cement screed/chipboard). The screed has pipework in it and the chipboard will have polypipe system overlay on it (approx 30 sq...
Job coming up with ufh matting. Sub is 6" t&g floor boards. Originally I was planning to nogging iy all up and relay boards. overboard with 6mm hardi, with slc and 12mm granite to top off.
This would obviously cause quite a step and was wondering what peoples thoughts on this plastic ply are...
Hi, I've had some tiling done in a new build. I've had Travertine put full height in three bathrooms. I'm very happy with the work that has been done, he recommended a waterproof mat for the shower areas and generally seemed very knowledgeable.
However, due to time constraints I've called...

Can anyone steer me in the right direction please?
I've recently had a couple of full bodied porcelain jobs, both by co-incidence have been 600 x 600, and on both jobs I have experienced issues with the edge of the tiles sheering away right at the end of a cut (see pic).
I've replaced...
Firstly happy new year to everyone.
I tiled a bathroom floor about 6 months ago and have had to repeatedly regrout it as the grout keeps cracking and coming loose. I was wondering if anyone could advise me why this is and how it can be remedied please?
I ply lined and primed the floor prior...
What do people think about self employed vs age?
Im 24 now so this may effect me in a year or so and it may not depending what happens in the foreseeable future but for younger tilers looking to go self employed, will it be more of a struggle?
If i was to get a few quotes for a job and say...
