    hi guys, i'm currently working on a hi-spec house in mayfair and the client wants all joints to be mitre joints. the tiles are marble and are 600x300. my current cutter is not up to the job as it is too small and the resulting cuts are hit and miss. need to speak to the site manager tomorrow...

    Expansion joints

    Hi Guys Need a little help. I have a 7m x 7m kitchen floor which is being laid in slate, 600 x 300, on a screeded floor. There is no underfloor heating and I am not sure whether I need an expansion joint. Any advice appreciated.

    Tiling on plasterboard with joints

    My plasterers have made a number of joints with paper and plasterboard adhesive (where there are pipes behind) as shown on the photo below. Am I going to have trouble applying tiles on this surface, in terms of support for the tiles. If so, what can I do?

    Why Stagger Joints for Mosaics?

    I read on here somewhere that it is best to stagger the joints of mosaic tile sheets. What's the purpose of doing this? Curious as I have a mosaic job to do on a bathroom floor using 300 x 300 sheets of 5mm mosaics.

    Just a quick thought. I've just finished laying 20m2 of 30 by 60 porcelain floor tiles in a herringbone pattern. The room was just about the right size to avoid having to use expansion joints, but if you had to put them in how would you go about it? :huh2:
