Hello,
Can anyone recommend a genuine, non rip-off place in Essex where I could sit an NVQ level 2 floor and wall tiling EWPA.
It would be great to chat to someone who has undertaken this route, even if not in Essex and find out all about it!
Many thanks
I've been tiling for around ten years and consider my self of a high standard. Over the years I have had issues with the level of prep either i or the fitter should do. Bearing in mind the depth constraints of tub gear, i feel the substrate should be to within a couple of mm of perfect. Now do...

Anyone use laser levels? In the market for one - is there anything that's recommended on here?
Been looking at the Bosch GLL 2-50 which looks decent. Mainly to be used for domestic work so a 10m range would be fine. Got about 150ish to spend.
Cheers

Another silly question.......
Do you guys use a (spirit) level when laying floor tiles, i.e, using a level on top of the floor tiles, to get an perfectly level floor, or do you just marry-up all four corners of every tile, and let the tiles follows the contour of the floor?
Your opions...
Hi there,
I am adding a tiled floor to a bathroom with existing tiled walls. The old timber skirting has been removed and I intend continuing the floor tiles ( cut down) up the wall as a tiled skirting. Problem is the wall tiles are 150mm ssquare and the floor tiles 330 square so the joints...
Laying riven slate, you cannot just rely on following the floor, since the slate are not all the same thickness. So you have to lay the slate to a level. This would be easy with perfectly flat tiles.
But with riven tiles, you could choose to prioritise getting the edges in line and allow peaks...
Hello -- I am looking for advice on the most reasonable way to raise the level of a floor to be tiled (probably with large natural slate tiles). It's a Victorian house, and we've just knocked together the kitchen, hall and dining room to give an area of about 25 sq m.
I'm lifting the old wood...
