Its advised to go in a brick-bond staggered to reduce chance of cracking, but Im kind of thinking that there a loads more joins now than I had with...

    Backbutter durabase decoupling matting

I have used Durabase a couple of times and decided it was safer to backbuttered the felt side and got a perfect contact, just like when backbuttering tiles. Just wondering whether anyone else does this, because there are a few videos on youtube but none of them backbutter the matting. Thanks

Tiling onto non-flat chipboard floor - and with or without Ditra matting?

We just had a 1.5 sq. m area of floor tiled professionally in our ensuite. The base floor is 18 mm chipboard and is screwed down hard to the joists, but dips down by a max. of around 4 to 5 mm in places. When laying the tiles, the tiler followed the floor precisely, and hence the finished...

Hi - we're renovating a house in Norfolk at the mo. I am getting conflicting advice from the stone supplier and our builder about what should be under the 22mm limestone flagstones. Removing anti-crack matting

I had a very poor tiling job done in the summer by a general builder and I've got a professional tiler in at the moment. The tiles came up very easily but there's and anti-crack mat underneath. We've found a lot of water under this mat, so we want to lift it and let the screed dry properly. It...

We had tile installed in January of 2018. The installer put Ditra down. The grout stated to crack and come out a few months after installation. Other tiles move. Is this caused by the Ditra? Or some other reason?
