I've got an access panel with magnets on each corner.
I need to glue galvanised steel corner brackets to the back of the porcelain tile that covers it.
Tried gorilla glue on a test piece, but it pulled off quite easily.
Does anyone know of a glue that will work?
Is there a technique for doing this with metal edge trim?
Eg, is it best to tile the whole face of the wall, with all of the 4 window sides cut straight and square, being raised proud by a set distance to allow for the trim/adhesive and inner tiles to meet up squarely when fitted later?
If so...
im fitting 300x600 tiles that are 9mm thick.
i read on here that i should use a 10mm round trowel for that size tile and that it will squash down to 6mm.
I assumed that would mean id need 15mm trim but someone at topps tiles said otherwise.
can anyone advise what i need to do/buy?
thanks
Got a job to do with some metal capped mosaics, is it right that you can cut them with a wet cutting blade?
Stone/Glass/Steel Mosaic Mixes | Tiles and Mosaics
Does it need a special blade or will my marcrist one do the job?
I have had a re-wire done and don't want to go to the expense of totally re-tiling the kitchen and was wondering if anyone can help me source these tiles which were purchased about 15 years ago, even if anyone could just supply a name or make that might help me in my search. I am looking for...

I don't know where most people get their metal trim from, probably CTD but I have found this guy on the bay and didn't think his trims were too badly priced.
Thoughts please?

Has anyone got any recommendations for a decent tool to cut and mitre metal tiletrims?..I've tiled a kitchen today with 5 lengths of metal trim with about 20 mitred corners using a broken plastic mitre box and a junior hacksaw...needless to say it wasn't enjoyable!
I'm looking to install natural slate tiles (30cm x 30cm) over a timber floor (stiffened with ply overlay) so expect a flexible cement based adhesive and grout is appropriate. However, I am also looking to install small (5cm x 5cm) metal (pewter) tile inserts at the corners of the tiles. Would I...
I used to cut them in tiny metal mitre block, but got fed up with it as the 2.4m length trim moved alot using the hacksaw so I ended up making my own mitre block, what do you lads use to make your life easier, like hearing how other tilers do it there way
Pushed a sofa over a white porcelain floor that I just laid and I have managed to mark the tile with the metal foot. Anyone got any ideas how to get metal mark of face of tile
I've just had a client ask are metal tile trims (such as the polished aluminium ones) affected by hard water? We're in the South East, Folkestone. Can they be cleaned effectively and easily? Do they attract limescale more than the plastic ones? Do they discolour?
I didn't know what to say as...
Tiles, grout and adhesive sorted. Just need to sort trim.
we have decided to go with metal, straight edge. Probably 8mm and prefer a brushed finish.
Cheapest we we have found is Genesis. We need 7 of 2.5m and at trimtraders it comes out at about £55 delivered for the aluminium brushed finish...
Can't remember who put the link up,
Mark or Neale, (whitebeam, sir ramic)
It was for a mini metal chop saw, think it was for cutting tracks on a model railway.
Do you still have the link as I can't find anything on a google search.
Hey all just got a job with quite a few metres of mosaic which is a combination of metal skinned tiles over the top of porcelain mosaics and glass mosaic tiles. Just wanted to see what angle grinder blades you are cutting them with.

Hi, iv only just become a member and was wondering if anybody had any experience in using metal tiles? I am tiling curved walls around a jacuzzi in metal mosaics. They are very, very easily scratched! I need to keep my hands permanently clean as any adhesive on my hands scratch them! I need to...

What do you use to cut and dress tour mitres? I use electric mitre saw, then light file and rub down if required. I wondered if there is anyway of improving the finish though, thought soldering the trim then file to fill joint, i know it would be hard making the soldering stick though
