Hi all!
I've had an en-suite shower tiled by a builder who's done a major house renovation for us. I've been happy with the other work (plastering/electrics etc), but are hung up on the job done on this shower. I feel that it doesn't LOOK like the best tiling job, and beyond that it's had a...

Hi, I am after some advice from those in the know. We have had a wetroom installed, and the shower area has a marmox tray under mosaic tiles. Its been in about four weeks, and there are lines of grout coming away. The floor, when finished has always seemed to have too much 'give' and my...

Hi there, we are re-tiling our bathroom, putting new tiles over existing tiles. We have put primer on and are wondering if it is better to lay a bed of adhesive on the existing tiles on the wall or can we just put blobs of adhesive on the back of the new tiles? Tiles are 600 x 300, 10mm deep.
I am investigating the price of floor formers....they are so expensive! The floor area is 1200 x 1200 & I wanted a linear drain to butt up to the wall to keep the tiling neat but I cannot find anything...any suggestions please? (This is a DIY project in a victorian house with wooden floorboards).
How much weight do you think a properly fixed 1800x900 Porcel-thin tile can take?
We have had to employ on our chinise cousins to do the test as the tiles are not yet in the U.K....
So, a big thanks goes out to our chinise "stig's!"!................Lee Wang, Ray Wong and Gary Chung...
Hi. Been thinking about tile adhesives, primers, systems etc and wondering just how much of it is hype. Manufacturers say you should use their own brand of primer and adhesive etc together, is there a problem with mixing and matching with other brands?
How much better are the likes of BAL and...
Talking to a property maintenance guy today who is starting to give me the odd job , done two or three jobs for him and so far he`s been pleased with no complaints from customers etc just good feedback. Today however when quizzed about my day rate , and i told him around the £150 mark which i...

Hi I am new to tiling and am planning on re-tiling around my bath this weekend. All tiles have been removed, and walls replastered. I have bought Bal white star adhesive and a 10kg bag of bal microflex but am now wondering if I have bought far too much and would the 3.5kg bag be enough (need to...

Hi all
I have just had my kitchen extension tiled an I am very worried after reading a number of threads regarding UFH.
I have recently had a 3x4m extension added to my kitchen. This part of the kitchen has had wet UFH installed. The scree is a concrete based scree and the UFh does not...
I am putting up some 600x300 porcelain tiles on the wall, just occurred to me; should i just do a couple of courses at a time and allow to set (like when bricklaying) rather than trying to do it all (floor to ceiling) in one hit. Am using Mapei Stone/Porcelain quick set (bag of powder) cement...
