My name is Brenton Chipper and I have been a ceramic tiler for the past...
I took an NVQ last year and passed in January this year, i took and passed H/S test in November 2009.
I have a blue and white card with cskills on the front with my picture and a H&S logo in the top right hand corner, on the back it has a registration number and a valid to date of 11/2014...
i don't have much idea about this NVQ stuff but i am getting a bit concerned after reading all this stuff on the forum I've been tiling/plastering for 35 years how do i get assessed,funded, and sorted does anyone know!! please :thumbsup:

I live just south of Basingstoke.
Due to other commitments I would be unable to b&b so would need somewhere which is commutable. I have checked out Diamonds site and given the excellent feedback here on the forum...

Iv only just gained access to the arms members section so I wanted to put a post up to say hello.
I have been a tiler for about 8 years and own a small tiling firm, we have a glowing reputation I very happy to say but I was taught by a little old man in a very old fasioned way...

Could somone enlighten me about fast tracking leval 2.How much experiance do you need to be fast tracked and how much do you have to pay.Have only been tiling two years.

Hi all.i spoke to a local training centre and they have told me that it'll take about 300 quid to get me sorted with the nvq 3.obviously osat i think.paperwork all home with me and all.does this sound ok? Im supposed to go in tomorrow.
Hi im a novice of 35 looking to get a career in tiling. Im aware of the catch 22 situation that exists for those who want to get NVQ qualified in that you need to get a job to get NVQ and you cant get a job with anyone unless you have it, etc...

Whats the best/ cheapest way to drill nice clean circles in tiles - should I invest in a Rotozip + Bits? If so, what size bits are used most often?
Also, what's the story with getting a Tiling NVQ by 2010? Really needed? If so, can anyone recommend a course (I live in Staffs).
