I'm pouring a reinforced concrete slab pathway to my front door which i want to tile with victorian mosaic tiles. the path will be 10m x 1m. i've been told to cut expansion/control joints every 2.5 metres. if i do that, do i fill these joints with screed and tile over them?
any advice
Hi, could any of my fellow tilers suggest the best place and preferably the cheapest place to buy Victorian path tiles around the london area. Thanks for any replies lads

Hi, the current path (approx. 4m x 1m) is laid with original Victorian black and white tiles, but there is not enough slope to produce a run off for the water. Any amount of rain and a big puddle forms across the path plus all the dirt collects there when the rain stops. Ideally, I would like to...

First post in the forums….great website! Already had loads of info and ideas from looking through some of the posts.
I’m planning to lay two Victorian tile paths from scratch for customers who live next door to each other. Each path roughly 6m x 1m and to be separated with a run...

So hopefully there is someone out there may be able to help me with locating someone that would be able to both supply and fit tiles the same as those in the picture shown...
Hi,

I'm sure these requests are on so often. We have an old victorian path that needs a complete overhaul. I thought we could lay some new tiles, but the base needs doing also. How much would this normally cost? We are in SW london. The path is approx 4metres long and one wide. Thanks

We have been quoted around £**. This seems high to me, and I would appreciate any guidance. The front path needs replacing, as the quarry tiles that are currently in place are all cracked and many are missing.
I live in North London, and any advice would be really welcome!

Hello everyone, I'm newly joined but have searched this forum many times before and always found it helpful and (hopefully) friendly!
I'm hoping for a bit of advice about my front path, I should say up front that i'm not a pro tiler just a DIYer but I'm worried I may have bitten off more than I...
I own an 1897 terraced house in East London. To my chagrin I had to take up my original Victorian mosaic front pathway. I now have 5 large buckets of tiles, carefully lifted and roughly cleaned to dispose of. I am seeking no payment, just a home for part of our heritage. All I would ask is that...

Hi
A little while back I asked for some advice on Victorian path tiling (thanks to those who replied) which I'm now ready to go ahead with.
I've got a couple of local firms coming to quote but thought it'd also be worth offering the job here too.
There's approximately 3 square metres of...
Hi,
I'd like to replace my dull old concrete slab garden path with a fancy victorian style tiled one and would be grateful for some help. I know from searching the forums there's some experts on this subject on here!
The path is pretty much a simple rectangle, 330cm long x 90cm wide, with a...

Morning Folks,
Just a quick note to say Hi and let you know a bit about me.
I'm 23 just now and work in a Call Centre, I really can't think of somewhere else that I'd rather be less than that place, I think it kills me a little bit inside each day haha.
I was going to go to College for...
Hi,
I'm looking for a tiler in the Liverpool area who would be able to quote for laying a victorian style black and white path on an area approximately 2m sq. I also have a slightly larger area in front of a bay window which requires tiling but in a block colour, with no preference for style...

Hi,
I have a red and black Victorian/Edwardian quarry tile path which I am planning to relay. I have purchased some reclaimed tiles to replace those that are broken but they require cleaning as they are covered in sand/cement on the back and remnants of tile paint on some of the fronts.
Can...
