Hi I am new to this forum . I am looking for some good advice fro experienced tilers .
I have been told I cannot use p9 on ply wood floors because it's a slow set ? And been told I have to use p9 express as it's fast setting ? The tiles are porcelain.
Is this correct ?
Cheers
Hello all!!
This is my first thread and no doubt the content will be what you have all seen and answered many times previously, so apologies in advance!
To give you a little background... I am a builder in Manchester, by trade I am a bricklayer, but handy at a few things, apart from electrical...
hi,
i've tiled my bathroom and now nervous about grouting it.
is there a type of grout that's easier / better to use for a novice ?
i've been reading some reviews and weber or grout 3000 seem to be what i'm leaning towards ? or BAL seem to have good selection of colours.
i'm a bit concerned...
Hi
My builder has tiled my bathroom with bevelled tiles but I am left with an external corner where 2 levels meet on the bottom row and 2 cut, straight edges meet on the top row which leaves a big difference in the gap between the bottom and top row of tiles where the corner meets. I have been...
Hi all. Is there a knack to minimise adhesive coming through the gaps between small mosaic tiles when applying them to the wall?
I’ve done my first one of this size and I’ll end up spending more time, with a trowel, scraping out adhesive between the cut lines than I will doing the rest of the...
I'm just after info...
How many times in the past 12 months have you come across failed floors?
By this I mean de-bonded due to whatever reasons. Anhydrite / spot-fixing / heating issues etc.
Seems to be an increasing problem. I've had calls out to look at 6 absolute howlers in the past 12...
Does anyone recognise this grey-ish tile, might be an expensive brand as we saw them in a fairly posh Cheshire hotel...
My missus fancies them for the 'feature' end of the bath, I'm liking them at 900 x 375 as I'll only need 5 for the wall.
hi there,
i was not sure if i should put this in find a tiler section as i was more hoping the regulars might be able to point me in the right direction to ensure i do not end up with a cowboy. i have seen numerous post saying it is such as shame people do not ask on here first as it would have...
We've had a tiled splashback put in as part of a kitchen refit. While the work looks good in general, I think the trim looks a bit odd. It's been used where two planes of tiles meet, and on the vertical lines where there are cuts, but they've left raw tile edges on top.
I think this...
To be honest no I havnt yet but I think its what I might end up doing. Even if I just do a few days here and there for free, to get an idea of how the trade actually works. I wonder if there's anyone on here that lives near by..
Good Evening.
We are in a spot of bother, unfortunately we accidentally got some permanent marker on £100sq meter marble tiles...We could end up having to buy 2sq meters of tiles and its just a complete nightmare...the marks are tiny, as in you wouldnt notice it if you went into the bathroom...
Hi Guys,
Newbie posting for the first time here, but have enjoyed reading all your helpful posts and find this forum invaluable!

First off, thank you to everyone that posts on this forum, although this is only my second post, the advice I have picked up from reading others has been invaluable.
On to my error. I have discovered rather late in the build process that my floor is not perfectly level, I did check it but...
Hello everyone
Tiles going onto the wall with addy works out at around 30kg m2.
Started scraping off plaster to expose the undercoat. Please can somone tell me by the picture if the undercoat is sand & cement or a bonding coat.
It's a little dusty but once cleaned off by a brush it seems...
Hello,
To give a bit of background info, our new kitchen tiles is laid on new 70mm screed, Ditra mat and adhesive.
The tiler has just finished laying the tiles and grouting but the grouting lines seems uneven and top layer coming off.
I think the tiler has grouted twice in some places as he...
