I have had new plasterboard walls and ceiling, will I first have to pava walls? I have read conflicting views, some say yes some...
My problem is I have to start a job today, the customer has primed the walls with PVA:yikes: How do I remove it? so I can prime with SBR, sand it? wash with water? new one on me:thumbsup:Thanks for any suggestions.

Whole room to be tiled.
One wall leading into and inside of shower enclosure with Mosiacs.
Other wall inside shower enclosure large format tiles.

I have to tile a shower area which the biulder has previously coated all over with PVA for some unknown reason. The surface is plasterboard on one side and plasterd mortar on the other. Can I tile over or can i use a primer over the pva.

I'm tiling a small bathroom. It's a chipboard floor which I've covered with 4mm external ply well screwed down. Do I need to put PVA on the floor first?

Would you just sand it down?
Is it possible to go over it with rapid set then prime and tile or not?

ive always been lead to believe NOT to use pva glue as a primer, but have recently finished working with an experienced plasterer and tiler who used it to seal ply on our floors!? What Is the reason people dont reccomend using it? Is it just as bad or worse to use pva glue to seal walls?
