Just finished an ensuite on a new build. This place was huge and the owners are very tile happy. Got the job when the original tiler got the hump with the site boss and chucked a bucket of grout water over him :lol:

Once I have finished my course obviously I need to cover all the avenues possible to get my business up and running, so I have registered a domain name and now started to develop my web site its called tileladyessex.co.uk, il let u all know when it goes live.
6 months in to being self-employed and I've only ever done domestic work.
I've turned down two good commercial opptys early on, as I didn't feel ready then to tackle such big jobs.
Now I know I'm good to go, what do I need to do to be ready for site work? (apart from hard hat, boots and bum...
i ve just recentley set up on my own i was wondering about site/commercial work i dont want to do domestics all the time, wen i was workin for a tiling firm i used to love goin on new build sites, how do self employed tilers gain new build site work. or am i jumpin the gun a bit any suggestions...

Hi,
Im thinking of doing some site work,but wondered once I get a CSCS card, do you think I will have to show any certificates etc to gain the work?,a mate of mine rekons where he works, as long as you do a good job at a good speed, thats all they seem to worry about.

this is my last post for a while, i think i have used up my quota of questions for the month of november..
i want to build my own website for my new tiling business. does anybody recommend where to go to learn or any courses/ web links etc.
i really want to get into this as a hobby...
How many of you out there do or have done site work? I've been working for a contractor for a few weeks and found it to be hard work for very little pay. Havent got enough domestic work yet to do this full time. Any views on site work?
