Hi, just joined and would appreciate some advice.
I have 20 year old crazy paving style paths with cement grout outside. I want something new and easier to keep clean. The existing grouting is cracking in 20%, the paving is solid to walk on. My question is can I lay new slabs over the top of...
I'm pricing a job atm where the customer would like the floor tiling from the kitchen straight into the bathroom.
The house was derelict for a long time and the floor is a mess.
My big concern is the serveral slabs etc, the floor height can be built up in SLC and bulked out with sharp sand in...

Hi all,
Following some excellent advice from you in 2012, I successfully laid approximately 40 sq m of ceramic floor tiles in our new kitchen, garden room and granny flat. All was fine for a while, but then the tiles cracked across the opening between the garden room and kitchen, a distance...

Hi All

I want to design a new column lamp using polished quartz slab 100mm x 100mm or 120mm x 120mm as a base with hollow reeded glass tube.
I have 2 questions -

I'm renovating an old apartment and we're going to install a pighes (white marble from Greece) marble floor.
I've got the prices per square meter and the slabs are going to be around 10% more expensive than the 600x600 tiles.
As the rooms are pretty rectangular I think it's going to...

I'm completely baffled by the limestone I've had fitted in our front garden. The tilers have used every Lithofin product available then we spent ages talking to the supplier of Lithofin and applied more etc. We are left with a dusty light grey finish which looks horrendous, when we were...

I'm putting a proposal together for a large piece of work, approx 6m x 10m. Basically it's using a variety of stone to create a picture. I need to know if anyone's used any companies which have machines capable of...
I need to set a mosaic onto cement paving slabs for use in a garden, 1.7m circle with square off set. this is a brand new set of slabs. I'll need to level off the surface of the slabs with a layer of cement, the mosaic will be done direct onto the surface and I'll be using 5mm thick marble...

Hi - I have made a hearth for a woodburning stove from sandstone paving slabs. The gaps between the slabs are up to 25mm wide (vary in width as the slabs have a rough edge).
What should I use to fill the gaps
- grout
- cement or mortar with a coloured dye
- cement the gaps until a few mm below...

Decided to lay 15mm thick limestone slabs on my concrete step from kitchen to my back garden and was wondering on the process of cutting, fixing, sealing etc

Hi All, Any advice appreciated on how to lay tiles outside onto a concrete base. All ready to go, approx 55m2. What type of fixing to use is my main concern, i assume all normal setting out rules apply. Plus, what do i use for a 'grout'. PS they will not be tiles, they will be paving stones...
