Hi everyone i would like your input to a debate thats going on over here about the correct way to use tile spacers.
As we all know the most important part of a job is setting out and of course how to space the tiles evenly. Now when I first started my old man only ever used a string line...
Hi - am tiling my en suite floors & walls in the same (ceramic 330 sq's) tile.Received wisdom is 5mm for the floor & 2mm (poss 3?) for the walls. But as I want them to match / align and for it all to look as uniform as possible, what do I use? 3 or 4mm all over as a compromise? Worried that...
Hi Guys
I purchased some tiles from Topps, Celia Blanco-M however, when laying them out on the floor to see how I wanted to arrnage them, I notice that if I add spacers between the tiles the pattern then does't match up? As you can see without spaces it matchs! The only other option is to use...
Hi Guys,
I am currently designing bathroom pods and have specified a 3mm grout spacing and have ordered 3mm spaces.
The tiler informs me they need 2mm spacers for a 3mm spacing, is this correct?
We have just received 60,000 spacers so this is quite important.
Thanks
Hello,
Just tiled a bathroom with these tiles.
Relieve Urbana Gris Wall Tile
I used 2mm spacers with these tiles. Some of the tiles were not perfect in size or the grout line pattern did not always match perfectly with the next tile to the right or above/below etc. So I made sure they...

.....for thicker tiles
Got speaking to Colin at Kwiksplit on Thursday and he mentioned he had just got these in from Raimondi (I do love the Italian manufacturers:thumbsup:) - 8mm high spacers with a leg that snaps off to give you 'T' pegs - next day I got a bag as a sample in the...
Find yourself a uPVC window accessory outlet and buy a bag of mixed glass packers. Slivers of plastic varying from .5mm to 2mm in thickness colour coded. Superb aid for tiling when using tiles with varying sizes.

My tiler tells me that because my tiles are not in a wet area and have a bevel they do not need to have spacers as the tiles have a mosaic effect finish so the whole tile is grouted. Is this correct advice?
