hello everyone. I am glad to be here!
Can anyone tell me whether it's feasible to use large ceramic tiles on brickwork? We started to remove things from a bathroom in order to tile it and large amounts of plaster came away. Seems it is all blown and has to be removed. Is...
Hi
Got a bit of a struggle going on between my head and my gut with this one.
I'm just about to start tiling a wall in my bathroom, but on mounting my baton horizontally, it has come screamingly to my attention that the floor and window are really quite far off the horizontal. It's a 100+...
Got to price a job (first for 20 years!!) and wondering about whether to board first. The floor is in pretty good nick, solid and level (no big gaps), but I'm inclined to board it out first as I think it'll give a better finish. If so marine ply for a bathroom? Primed edges? Bal addy or mapei...
Hi all,
i'm new to the site and i hope all are well, i completed an excellent 5 day course at NETT a few weeks ago with a view to go self employed very soon, i took the chance to put all my new skills to the test in the last few days doing a little job for friends, i could of however choose an...
Hi
I'm not sure how to layout my flooring due to some wonky walls. Hopefully the diagram explains the situation. My kitchen (A) is nice and straight. Area B is an extension and is a hallway to the back door. The whole area is being tiled with the same 30x30 tiles. I've exaggerated the drawing...
Hello all,
Can't quite believe my luck that I've stumbled across this forum as I'm looking for a professional tiler in the East London/Essex area. :hurray:
I have a question before I get a tiler in though. I am laying UFH in the ground floor of my house, in some areas it will be on a...
Hi everyone,
I've got a rubi dw 200 lp wet saw with a Marxist blade for cutting marble and granite. I've tried to cut a stone tile which is 500mm by 500mm but the saw does not cut in a straight line. I'll be very grateful if someone can advise me on this.

I am fixing 600x300 ceramic to a shower wall and will need to check I am getting as close to 100% coverage as possible.
When pulling a tile off to check coverage, can I just put it straight back on? Or do I...
what do you use for a straight edge when floor tiling...?
I have a 6ft level and use that..
what do you use..?..have you had something made up or just maybe a feather edge or summit.
I have outcove for shower but Screen is a bit less wide than the opening.
I need to fix timber (not sure of size yet) on one side to get required width.:mad2:
It will be all tiled but I am not sure if I can tile straigth on this timber after Good coat of PVA or if I should screw on it plywood...
Please can someone set me straight on this British Standards issue ?
Of all, of our members I imagine that only a small percentile are familiar with all of the British Standards pertaining to tiling ? Copies of which ( as far as I am aware ) are only available to purchase at an exorbitant...

I have a plasterer doing my bathroom, in the shower area I intend to tank it. Can I apply tanking straight onto bonding coat or do I need him to appy a skim over the bond before I tank it? walls are solid ie not plasterboard...

Hi guys/gals
Ive started tiling around my kitchen worktop using sqaure 12x12cm tiles. The granite worktops are all level, however near the last run, the worktop doesnt seem to be level. Should i trim the tile to make it straight?? would this look dodgy as all the other tiles start full frm the...

Hi, I've got a very cold bathroom and I intend to use insulated board - maybe 20mm Marmox - underneath tiles on the exterior walls.
Am I right in thinking that I can just use tile adhesive to stick the board straight onto the (brick and plaster) wall then tile on top of it using the same depth...
