Hi Folks
We used to have a wc / shower downstairs but cubilcle was tiny. My partner wanted a utility room so we ripped out wc & shower. She would now like a downstairs wc & shower (bless her cotton socks!), but want to keep the utility room.
My plan is to tile whole room and install glass...

Hi
I got a lot of useful advice over my last post, thanks guys:

I had reached the decision, as suggested by Stewart, which was:
So I was going to put down No More Ply over the chipboard...
I have worked for a tiling company that installed UFH, the Warmup type, over Ditra matting. However, there seem to be views that doing so is not a good idea....the theory is that the wire heats up and melts the Ditra??.........could anyone enlighten me on this?

Hi.
I have 18mm marine ply as my substrate on my suspended floor wet floor. I have bought some Ditra Matting and plan to cover the entire ground floor with it.I was going to buy some Nicobond Fast Flexible Adhesive but at £25/7kg it is very very expensive.
I was thinking that as I have...

I'm halfway through my extension - separate builders, plumbers, sparks etc rather than one company. Now at stage of looking to start floor tiling. I was a bit daunted by the floor size (32 sq mtrs to be done with 600 x 600mm porcelain...

Note on movement joints:
Ditra must be seperated at the existing movement joints. If Ditra is used as a waterproofing layer, the joints between the sheets must be covered with Schluter -KERDI-FLEX band.
Movement joints must be continued in the tile covering, as specified by the applicable...

Has anyone used SLC to fill Ditra? I'm wondering if this would work - whether it would run into the holes fully. If it did work it would save a lot of time on bigger jobs and be more cost effective than filling with adhesive. I usually go over with a loose mix of adhesive first and allow to dry...
Just wondering if any of you guys have used the Homelux waterproofing kits, it comes in sheet form and is sold at topps tiles. I saw a demonstration of it recently and just wonderd if anyone had any views?
Im debating on how much money id save the customer as well considering that it is all...
I am using SPF (Nocros rapid flexible addy) to fix travertine to Ditra matting, but wondered if its best to use some Bal Bond SBR before fixing the tiles?

Hi,
I have a possible large job and am wondering where to go for the cheapest supplier of Ditra matting. Hope I'm ok to post this here as not after prices to install simply to buy. I will need to quote for a large job that involves just over 550 sq m of ditra matting in total. I am wondering...
I know there has been some discussion on here lately about these systems such as the Tuscan, but has anyone yet used them?
I have a customer who wants a truly perfect floor and is prepared to pay the extra if it works.
Are they available in the UK yet? If so, where?
Thanks
Lets try to end the guessing and assumptions being thrown around re this miraculous product.

Ok let’s have a little clearing of the decks as regards Durabase CI mat and Schluter Ditra mat.
Durabase CI and Ditra are membranes manufactured to lie between tiles and floor to absorb lateral movement. In simple terms if either of these membranes is installed and the floor beneath moves by...
