I've had a search and can't find the answer probably because it's obvious but want to check anyway.
Stripped the old downstairs wet room and removed all the plaster as it was damaged back to the sand and cement coat. After leveling the floor I'll be installing a tray and screen.
My question...

Hi all, starting a wet room floor soon, have a few questions I would like some help with!
The floor has already been installed by a builder and has Hardi backer boards down, running up to the tray, but will need levelling before reaching it.
1. Hardi backer is not waterproof, so how does self...
Good evening.
I am enquiring about the use of tanking systems (such as those used with wet room shower kits) and plaster.
If an area has any new plaster can the tanking system be placed over once dry, or after some prolonged time ? Does it need sealing, PVA or similar?
Does the type of plaster...
Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on tanking a shower.
I have a 1400x900 resin shower tray in an enclosure with three plastered walls - one wall is stone and two are studwork.
I've bought the Aquaseal tanking kit and I just want to know can I, or should I, run the tape that comes with the kit onto...

It feels like there is a constant asking about the suitability of cement board in wet areas.
"Will they be ok in my wet room?" "Should I tank them?" etc etc etc
Can I attempt to clear up the confusion - much of which comes from the manufacturers and the builder's merchants who sell the stuff...

it's a topic that has cropped up before but I don't think a definitive outcome came from it. What is your method to ensure the best possible seal to a white shower tray when your tanking the walls?

Afternoon all,
I’m a fairly experienced DIYer just about to embark on a wet room for the first time and am a little bewildered by the array of products for creating a waterproof room.
My plan so far is to fit a Wedi floor-level shower element (Fundo Ligno BuyWedi - http://tinyurl.com/jnfs3d2)...
