Monday 11am placed an order over the phone for UFH mat and 14 Thermo panel tile backer boards. Can they be delivered to site? after a little discussion it was said they could but usually has to go to card holders address.
Arrived at site today (Tuesday) the materials had been delivered at 8am...
i have to give a big thank you to Dave and Ajax123 for all the info they have posted on Anhydrite sceed. i have been trying to regurgitate the info that i have been soaking up but i was afraid it was falling on deaf ears. yesterday the architect came in to see me and he was like a cat that got...
On to the grouting now!
The trav has a chipped edge affect. Earlier you suggested grouting the whole tile to stop muck build up in the holes, grooves etc. Do you suggest this even knowing the edge is chipped? If so do I cover the whole lot then 'clean out' the gaps to get a normal grout line...
Just wanted to put up a post to say thanks to John (faithhealer) :hurray:
We have been working together this week on a bathroom refit, John is doing the Plumbing and I'm doing the Tiling.
John could have just turned up, put the pipes in then went home but he has taken time to show me how...
I spoke to mapei's marketing dept in january, about getting a set of grout samples, the person i spoke to (mike i think) said they were out of stock at that time, but would send me a set when they were restocked. They arrived today, so thank you mapei.:thumbsup:
Hi everyone,
I'm a couple of weeks away from beginning my first tiling job in my bathroom. I've been searching this site for several days now and have a few ideas but there's just so much to absorb and I would be really grateful for some clarity.
I'd like to be able to give something back...

I started out feeling like a DIY tiler but thanks to this site and all the useful advice I'm starting to feel like a real pro!
I used to prime with PVA which I've since learned is a big no no and I've ditched my old cutter and invested in a Rubi TS40.. tiling is becoming so much pleasurable now...
Would like to say a great big thank you to everyone who gave such glowing comments on my wet room photos. It is really refreshing to know that other tilers can be complementary about someone else's work. You would not be surprised to hear that too many times I hear other tilers bitching about...

Hi all,
I wanted to say a big 'Thank you' to WETDEC:thumbsup: in a separate post rather than tagging it onto my previous one.
He was kind enough to let me borrow his polisher to help out with my first job(expensive bit of kit) for a few days on trust, never having met before and at no cost...
Hi all, just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone on here who's given me advice, i've only recently started tiling after attending nett and have come up against alot of snide comments and put downs off tilers in my area saying the old "what the hell do you know" lines and as i always say on...
Hi all
I'm a diy'er about to embark on my first ever tiling. It looks like I'm jumping in at the deep end as I'm going to be tiling a wetroom with slate on the (multisloped) floor and ceramic on the walls!
Just wanted to say how helpful I've found all your posts and replies, and will probably...
