I have laid a victorian style floor with underfloor heating (thanks U Heat:thumbsup:).
My problem is how to finish the flooring.
I have impregnated and sealed the floor, but am worried that if I use a finishing product like wax it might be affected by the heating.

Hey guys... had some muppet plumber quizin me today on electric heating beneath travertine, he's been told by some tile shop assistant its a no go area and should be avoided. Ive never used electric UFH with travertine myself so I didnt really know what to advise him.
Any ideas on this one...

Hi again. OK, fixed a floor on top of elec heating, used a rapid set went home came back and customer had put somthing heavy on a tile (my tool box), two corners have sunk a little, tile is set, is there any way of getting it up without damaging the heating element??????

i've got a job coming up, a 10m sq kitchen floor on a concrete floor, that requires underfloor heating. have been pricing the UFH at my local topps, they recommend fitting insulation boards on top of the concrete subfloor to prevent heat loss into the concrete, which makes sense.

Well after 6 days and lots of sweating (when trowelling the addy over the wires) I finally finihsed my GP's 2 en-suites with porcelain 450x450 tiles and UFH.
Went for the loos wire system from warm up as the l-shaped rooms and tiolets, bidets and sinks meant a mat would have been difficult...

Just been asked to lay UFH in a wet room but i am concerned due to the fact that the waterproof membrane supplied is to be stuck to the 18mm chipboard floor by peeling the back of the membrane.
