Hi, any tips on how you would tile a room that's not a good shape. I'm laying out tiles but finding the end of the room is causing a huge gap as the walls are not straight. Should I just follow the wall line? I don't see what else I could do. What's the best course of action?
Hi
I laid my first few tiles today, and I got a few questions after I feel I was not doing something and many things incorrect....
I'm laying 900x150mm wood effect tiles which I started from the centre of the room where a small area was 4/5mm higher than the rest of the otherwise level...
Hi all. Good forum - been reading it for years.

Hello,
I would like to know how many millimeters of uneven we can have between two tiles. I bought the British standard 5385-1 but I found nothing inside about this subject. Do you know where can I find the answer?
Thank you :)

Hello guys,
I am wanting to know if it is possible to tile directly onto this wall or not?
My other options would be to replaster, one or both walls, or replace the plasterboard wall.
It is for a bathroom, with a shower being in the corner, so both wall wills be effected.

Problem:
Tiling a kitchen floor.
Half is covered in bitumen (from parquet floor). Half is a new concrete slab.
There is a 35mm level difference across the floor and is fairly lumpy.
Possible solution No.1?:
Use latex self-levelling compound such as arditex na.
BUT: I am slightly worried...
I’m looking to put quarry tiles down in the kitchen in the rear part of my victorian terraced property. The existing floor surface is bitumen in the original part and screed in the newer (extension) part. The floor is pretty uneven (up to about 10mm, I think).
There is one small area in the...

We're halfway through tiling a combination of mosaics and ceramin tiles.

Dear All, Have spent the last 3 days taking apart a travertine bathroom that is basically falling apart - the quality of prep and finishing is awful, an absolute shocker! Have already removed the shower, 2 walls and all the sanitaryware and started stripping the floor yesterday. Its 50/50...
Hi , Ive a trav job tomorrow , walls are skimmed but out buy 2 inches inches in some parts so need to prep & level it before I fit the trav. Would it be ok to bond over the 2 inch dips then skim over before tiling? or would 1 coat plaster from wickes be ok?
I'm a Plumber by trade but will often do a bit of tiling as part of a bathroom install when required. I'm currently working on a job in a 2m x 2.25m bathroom which requires me to install an 800 x 1700 floor mounted shower tray and tile approximately the remaining floor (just over 3 metres) with...
Hi all, a plumber here. My wall tiling isn't bad as I take a lot of care over it, but I haven't done that much floor tiling.
I've got a bathroom (1.7m x 1.9m) and a small cloakroom to do. It's an old house and the existing floor boards are all over the shop. Very uneven with gaps and corners...
